Background: To test the novel ultrasound (US)-guided bilateral anterior quadratus lumborum block (QLBA) at the lateral supra-arcuate ligament (supra-LAL) technique combined with postoperative intravenous analgesia was a viable alternative approach of conventional thoracic epidural analgesia (TEA) for laparoscopic radical gastrectomy (LRG).
Methods: Three hundred and four patients scheduled for LRG were randomized 1:1 into QLBA group: receiving a novel pathway of US-guided bilateral QLBA at the supra-LAL before general anesthesia (GA) and patient-controlled intravenous analgesia (PCIA) after surgery, and TEA group: receiving TEA before GA and patient-controlled epidural analgesia following surgery. The difference in procedure time between the treatment groups was set as the primary endpoint.

Background: Posterior spinal fusion (PSF) surgery for correction of idiopathic scoliosis is associated with chronic postsurgical pain (CPSP). In this multicenter study, we describe perioperative multimodal analgesic (MMA) management and characterize postoperative pain, disability, and quality of life over 12 months after PSF in adolescents and young adults.
Methods: Subjects (8-25 years) undergoing PSF were recruited at 6 sites in the United States between 2016 and 2023.

Objective: To explore the application effect of enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) for patients with hepatolithiasis undergoing hepatectomy.
Methods: A retrospective comparative analysis was performed on the clinical data of 120 patients with hepatolithiasis who were admitted to the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery in our hospital between December 2017 and May 2022 using convenience sampling.
Results: There were differences in the impact of different management modes on blood glucose and visual analogue scale (VAS) scores between the two groups of patients (F = 32.

Background: Remimazolam, an ultra-short-acting anesthetic with flumazenil as a reversal agent, typically facilitates patient awakening postoperatively. However, our case reveals an unusual occurrence: despite flumazenil initially restoring consciousness, re-sedation due to remimazolam ensued six hours later.
Case: A 65-year-old woman underwent total intravenous general anesthesia with remimazolam and remifentanil during the 140-min surgery.

Purpose: Colorectal cancer (CRC) surgery in elderly patients with hypertension poses challenges due to potential complications and prolonged recovery. This study aimed to assess the impact of multimodal opioid-sparing anesthesia on intestinal function and prognosis of elderly hypertension patients undergoing CRC surgery.
Methods: A total of 80 elderly hypertension patients who underwent open surgery for CRC in the People's Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region from October 2020 to October 2022 were selected and randomly divided into two group (A and B, n = 40) through the random number table method.
