Ferroelectric hafnia exhibits promising robust polarization and silicon compatibility for ferroelectric devices. Unfortunately, it suffers from difficult polarization switching. Methods to enable easier polarization switching are needed, and the underlying reason for this switching difficulty is not understood.

Flavin-dependent halogenases (FDHs) are promising candidates for the sustainable production of halogenated organic molecules by biocatalysis. FDHs require only oxygen, halide and a fully reduced flavin adenine dinucleotide (FADH) cofactor to generate the reactive HOX that diffuses 10 Å to the substrate binding pocket and enables regioselective oxidative halogenation. A key challenge for the application of FDHs is the regeneration of the FADH.

In order to promote low-carbon sustainable development in the ecological environment and improve the efficiency of hydrogen and natural gas energy utilization, this project carried out research on the explosive effects of different thicknesses of ordered porous media on the hydrogen-methane gas mixture. A detailed discussion was conducted based on the critical quenching hydrogen blending ratio under the thicknesses of 50 mm and 60 mm of ordered porous media. The results indicate that the critical quenching hydrogen blending ratio is 9% for a thickness of 50 mm and 20% for a thickness of 60 mm, indicating that greater thickness enhances flame suppression capabilities.

Magnetoplumbites are one of the most broadly studied families of hexagonal ferrites, typically with high magnetic ordering temperatures, making them excellent candidates for permanent magnets. However, magnetic frustration is rarely observed in magnetoplumbites. Herein, the discovery, synthesis, and characterization of the first Mn-based magnetoplumbite, as well as the first magnetoplumbite involving pnictogens (Sb), ASbMnO (A = K or Rb) are reported.

Introduction: IUDs are effective, reversible and safe methods of contraception. The mechanism of action of IUDs as a group is inducing endometrial atrophy, apoptosis, altering tubal motility; preventing sperm permeability, fertilization, and implantation. Complications of IUD include menstrual disturbance, pelvic pain, and increased risk of ectopic pregnancy with contraceptive failure, device expulsion, uterine perforation or transmural migration with misplacement of the device.
