The NCCN Guidelines for Survivorship provide screening, evaluation, and treatment recommendations for common consequences of cancer and cancer treatment. They are intended to aid health care professionals who work with survivors of adult-onset cancer in the posttreatment period, including those in general oncology, specialty cancer survivor clinics, and primary care practices. Guidance is also provided to help promote physical activity, weight management, and proper immunizations in survivors. This article summarizes the NCCN Survivorship panel's discussions for the 2016 update of the guidelines regarding the management of anxiety, depression, posttraumatic stress disorder-related symptoms, and emotional distress in survivors.

Background: The primary treatment of metastatic spine disease is radiation therapy (RT), traditionally conventional external beam RT (EBRT) or stereotactic body RT (SBRT). Until recently, there had been no Level 1 evidence supporting SBRT over EBRT, which has led to difficulties obtaining insurance approval. Publication of the first randomized controlled trial (RCT) comparing SBRT to EBRT for spine metastases [Canadian Cancer Trials Group (CCTG)] helped change this.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a heterogeneous group of diseases comprising several molecular subtypes. Comprehensive DNA sequencing is now standard practice to identify these subtype. Until recently, KRAS mutation status in metastatic CRC was primarily used as a biomarker to predict resistance to EGFR inhibition.

Objective: The objective of this study was to determine the prevalence and spectrum of genetic mutations linked to inherited breast and ovary cancer (HBOC) in the Indian population, and to evaluate the correlation of BRCA mutation types, frequency, and incidence with age, gender, and personal and family history.
Methods: A retrospective cohort of 500 Indian HBOC patients, meeting NCCN criteria who underwent BRCA1/2 testing from 2017 to 2023 were shortlisted for this study. The anonymized data was retrieved from medical records.

Background: Although chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL) are the same biologic disease entity and warrant identical treatment approaches, patients with SLL have frequently been excluded from clinical trials in CLL.
Methods: This study assessed the representation of patients with SLL among Phase II or III clinical trials cited in the 2024 National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) treatment guidelines.
Results: Patients with SLL were explicitly eligible for only 21 (38%) of the 56 clinical trials for CLL, comprising 222 (6%) of the 3440 enrolled patients.
