Background: Continuous retrograde flow across the aortic valve from left ventricular assist device (LVAD) therapy can result in cusp damage and progressive aortic regurgitation, potentially triggering recurrent heart and multiorgan failure. The management of aortic regurgitation after LVAD implantation has not been well defined.
Methods: This study retrospectively reviewed the investigators' experience with the management of de novo aortic regurgitation requiring intervention in patients with continuous-flow LVAD.

The ruptured sinus of Valsalva aneurysm (RSOV), a rare but well-recognized clinical entity, is invariably a form of left-to-right shunt due to rupture into right-sided chambers. It causes profound hemodynamic effects, especially when the rupture is acute. Like most other left-to-right shunts, it was only a matter of time before this rare defect also became amenable to transcatheter closure (TCC).

Background: Atrial switch repair was the first surgical intervention to result in long-term survival in patients with ventriculo-arterial discordance or transposition of the great arteries. However, the natural history after atrial switch is not uneventful with frequent atrial arrhythmia, development of baffle stenosis, and eventually heart failure. For this, new interventions might be necessary but are often associated with increased risk.

Transcatheter retrograde testicular vein embolization for symptomatic varicoceles is well-established but has a documented failure rate. Percutaneous anterograde varicocele embolization may be a suitable alternative. A retrospective observational, descriptive study of consecutive patients who had undergone unsuccessful retrograde embolization attempts underwent percutaneous anterograde varicocele embolization at a single center was performed.
