is a dimorphic fungus that specifically infects , causing stem swelling and the formation of an edible fleshy stem known as jiaobai. The pathogenicity of is closely associated with the development of jiaobai and phenotypic differentiation. Msb2 acts as a key upstream sensor in the MAPK (mitogen-activated protein kinase) signaling pathway, playing critical roles in fungal hyphal growth, osmotic regulation, maintenance of cell wall integrity, temperature adaptation, and pathogenicity.

strain E264 (E264) and close relatives stochastically duplicate a 208.6 kb region of chromosome I via RecA-dependent recombination between two nearly identical insertion sequence elements. Because homologous recombination occurs at a constant, low level, populations of E264 are always heterogeneous, but cells containing two or more copies of the region (Dup+) have an advantage, and hence predominate, during biofilm growth, while those with a single copy (Dup-) are favored during planktonic growth.

In this study we examined the activation of the non-canonical NFκB signalling pathway in endothelial cells. In HUVECs, LIGHT stimulated a delayed induction of serine 866/870 p100 phosphorylation linked to p52 NFκB formation. Surprisingly, the canonical ligand, IL-1β, stimulated a rapid phosphorylation or p100 which was not associated with p52 formation.

In response to agonists, LXRs induce the expression of key lipid homeostasis regulators. Crosstalk between LXRs and inflammatory signals exist in a cell type- and gene-specific manner.

Background: Insecticide resistance is jeopardising malaria control efforts in Africa. Deciphering the evolutionary dynamics of mosquito populations country-wide is essential for designing effective and sustainable national and subnational tailored strategies to accelerate malaria elimination efforts. Here, we employed genome-wide association studies through pooled template sequencing to compare four eco-geographically different populations of the major vector, Anopheles funestus, across a South North transect in Cameroon, aiming to identify genomic signatures of adaptive responses to insecticides.
