Unlabelled: Backgroung/Aim: Breast cancer resistance protein [BCRP/ATP-binding cassette subfamily G member 2 (ABCG2)] is a member of the ATP-binding cassette transporter family, used as a maker of cancer stem cells (CSCs) and thought to be responsible for drug resistance by pumping them out of cells. However, its precise role in various cancer types has been controversial, and the aim of this study was to investigate the expression of ABCG2 in hepacellular carcinoma (HCC) and relate the results to established prognostic factors.
Patients And Methods: We conducted analysis of 181 HCC and paired-match adjacent normal liver tissue by immunohistochemistry from tissue array of slides.
Results: The mean score for ABCG2 expression was higher in tumor than in adjacent normal liver tissue of HCC patients (p<0.001). There was a statistically significant correlation between ABCG2 expression and age, differentiation status and hepatitis B surface antigen (p=0.031, p=0.015 and p=0.033, respectively). Additionally, increased expression of ABCG2 in HCC and its statistically significant correlation with hepatitis B surface antigen was found in elderly (p=0.039), not in younger patients (p=0.518). Importantly, by using Kaplan-Meier and Cox regression analysis, overall survival in patients with high expression of ABCG2 was found reduced in elderly patients (p=0.029 and p=0.081, respectively).
Conclusion: ABCG2 can be used as a target for the development of novel therapies in HCC.

Nowadays, chemotherapy and immunotherapy remain the major treatment strategies for Triple-Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC). Identifying biomarkers to pre-select and subclassify TNBC patients with distinct chemotherapy responses is essential. In the current study, we performed an unbiased Reverse Phase Protein Array (RPPA) on TNBC cells treated with chemotherapy compounds and found a leading significant increase of phosphor-AURKA/B/C, AURKA, AURKB, and PLK1, which fall into the mitotic kinase group.

Collagen stroma interactions within the extracellular microenvironment of breast tissue play a significant role in breast cancer, including risk, progression, and outcomes. Hydroxylation of proline (HYP) is a common post-translational modification directly linked to breast cancer survival and progression. Changes in HYP status lead to alterations in epithelial cell signaling, extracellular matrix remodeling, and immune cell recruitment.

The p60 subunit of the chromatin assembly factor-1 complex, that is, chromatin assembly factor-1 subunit B (CHAF1B), is a histone H3/H4 chaperone crucial for the transcriptional regulation of cell differentiation and self-renewal. CHAF1B is overexpressed in several cancers and may represent a potential target for cancer therapy. However, its expression and clinical significance in lung squamous-cell carcinoma (LUSC) remain unclear.

The management of periocular skin malignancies presents a unique challenge. Proton beam therapy, due to its sharp dose fall-off, allows for the delivery of a tumoricidal dose to the tumor while sparing adjacent normal tissues. Thirteen patients with a median age of 76.

Background: Exosomes, as extracellular membrane vesicles, play important roles in intercellular communication and can influence tumour progression. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) have been reported in various malignancies and are also important components of exosomes. However, the role of exosomal circRNAs in gastric cancer (GC) progression has not been completely clarified.
