A case of emergency revascularisation of the hepatic artery for liver necrosis following its forced ligature during corpo-caudal pancreatectomy for cancer of the pancreas in referred. Necrosis protection mechanisms, namely higher portal flow, increase in O2 extraction and collateral circulation are analysed. The therapeutic aids for preventing this serious event are presented. It is considered that peripheral expansion of the hepatic artery thrombosis prevented the installation of a valid collateral circulation, although the hypothesis of a reduction in portal flow should not be ignored.

Background: Hepatic artery infusion with floxuridine is a treatment option for patients with colorectal liver metastases or intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. Outcomes from newer centers are understudied. Predictive markers are needed, and quantitative circulating tumor DNA is an emerging candidate method for predicting response in patients receiving hepatic artery infusion.

Transarterial radioembolization using radionuclide-labeled microspheres has shown efficacy in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). In this study, a novel formulation of Polyvinyl alcohol-collagen microspheres (PCMs) with an optimal settling rate is developed. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analyses confirm that the PCMs have uniform morphology with diameters ranging from 20 to 30 μm.

Biliary atresia (BA) is a progressive neonatal bile duct disease treated with the Kasai procedure; however, complications may necessitate liver transplantation. We report a rare case of simultaneous hepatic artery and portal vein thrombosis in a term infant after Kasai surgery, leading to acute liver failure and urgent transplantation. Rapid deterioration with metabolic acidosis, hypovolemic shock, and coagulopathy suggested "liver infarction," confirmed by imaging, while thrombolysis failed to restore full viability.

Transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) is an optional treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients with macrovascular invasion (MVI) and without extrahepatic metastasis (EHM). As a recently emerging approach, the efficacy of hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) compared with TACE in this group of patients is unclear. Between December 2016 and June 2020, patients diagnosed with HCC with MVI and without EHM who underwent TACE (n=91) or HAIC (n=190) as their initial treatment were included.

Graft hepatic artery dissection (GHAD) is a rare but serious complication in liver transplantation, often leading to graft loss and retransplantation. Treatment typically involves re-establishing arterial flow through primary repair and reanastomosis. We present the case of an 11-year-old female with a history of biliary atresia admitted for decompensation.
