Purpose: To compare iridian Swept-Source Anterior Segment OCT (SS-AS-OCT) and microbiological features in Aqueous Humor (AH) in patients with Fuchs Uveitis Syndrome (FUS) and Posner-Schlossman Syndrome (PSS).

Methods: Comparative, retrospective-prospective single center study examining 131 eyes from 66 patients, including 33 eyes with PSS, 37 eyes with FUS, and 61 healthy eyes. AH samples were collected from affected eyes in all patients.

Purpose: The distinction between pellucid-like keratoconus (PLK) and pellucid marginal corneal degeneration (PMD) based on tomographic examinations is difficult. In this study, corneal tomographic and biomechanical parameters, after classifying PMD and PLK using swept-source optical coherence tomography, were analyzed.

Methods: Diagnoses of PLK and PMD were made using SS-OCT imaging, two groups were formed: PLK (n = 30) and PMD (n = 10).

Although hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) is used to treat systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), it is associated with retinal toxicity. Early diagnosis can prevent the further progression of HCQ-associated retinopathy by discontinuing HCQ treatments. This study aimed to evaluate the early diagnostic parameters in patients with SLE treated with HCQ and identify the best approach using multifocal electroretinography (mfERG) and swept-source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT) to reflect subclinical retinal toxicity.

Objective: To investigate the long-term impact of half-fluence photodynamic therapy (PDT) on chorioretinal architecture in chronic central serous chorioretinopathy (cCSCR) through novel choroidal vascularity index (CVI) versus previously established subfoveal choroidal thickness (SFCT).

Methods: This post-hoc analysis included prospectively collected swept-source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT) images of a total of 29 cCSCR and fellow eyes (FE), acquired before, one and 12 months after PDT. CVI, total choroidal area (TCA), luminal area (LA) and stromal area (SA) were calculated using validated binarization technique.

Compartmental analysis of retinal vascular parameters and thickness in myopic eyes using SS-OCTA.

Front Med (Lausanne)

December 2024

Chongqing Key Laboratory of Prevention and Treatment on Major Blinding Diseases, Chongqing Eye Institute, Chongqing Branch (Municipality Division) of National Clinical Research Center for Ocular Diseases, The First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, Chongqing, China.

Article Synopsis
  • The study examined how myopia affects the thickness and structure of retinal blood vessels using advanced imaging technology in 100 participants.
  • The findings revealed that individuals with high myopia had significantly lower vessel density and thinner retinal layers, particularly noticeable in the superficial and nerve fiber layers.
  • There was a noted correlation between certain ocular parameters, such as axial length to curvature radius ratio, and retinal thickness in non-high myopic eyes, while high myopic eyes showed less correlation in these aspects.
