We study the temperature-dependent electronic B_{1g} Raman response of a slightly underdoped single crystal HgBa_{2}Ca_{2}Cu_{3}O_{8+δ} with a superconducting critical temperature T_{c}=122 K. Our main finding is that the superconducting pair-breaking peak is associated with a dip on its higher-energy side, disappearing together at T_{c}. This result reveals a key aspect of the unconventional pairing mechanism: spectral weight lost in the dip is transferred to the pair-breaking peak at lower energies. This conclusion is supported by cellular dynamical mean-field theory on the Hubbard model, which is able to reproduce all the main features of the B_{1g} Raman response and explain the peak-dip behavior in terms of a nontrivial relationship between the superconducting gap and the pseudogap.

The development of nanocomposite photocatalysts with high photocatalytic activity, cost-effectiveness, a simple preparation process, and scalability for practical applications is of great interest. In this study, nanocomposites of TiO Degussa P25 nanoparticles/activated carbon (TiO/AC) were prepared at various mass ratios of (4:1), (3:2), (2:3), and (1:4) by a facile process involving manual mechanical pounding, ultrasonic-assisted mixing in an ethanol solution, paper filtration, and mild thermal annealing. The characterization methods included XRD, SEM-EDS, Raman, FTIR, XPS, and UV-Vis spectroscopies.

α-MoO exhibits promising potential in the field of infrared detection and thermoelectricity owing to its exceptional characteristics of ultra-low-loss phonon polaritons (PhPs). It is of utmost importance to comprehend the phonon interaction exhibited by α-MoO in order to facilitate the advancement of phonon-centric devices. The intriguing applications of α-MoO for phonon-centric technology are found to be strongly dependent on scissors Raman modes.

In this work, iron based 1, 3, 5-tricarboxylic acid (FeBTC) was prepared via microwave-assisted method and incorporated into TiO via ultrasonic assisted method. The TiO-FeBTC nanocomposites were characterized by XRD, FTIR, Raman, BET, FESEM, HRTEM, TGA, UV‒vis DRS and PL to understand their crystallographic, surface morphology, and optical characteristics. The Raman spectra showed a blue shift of E, A, and B peaks upon incorporation of FeBTC MOF onto TiO.

Using Raman spectroscopy to study the correlated 4d-electron metal Sr_{2}RhO_{4}, we observe pronounced excitations at 220 meV and 240 meV with A_{1g} and B_{1g} symmetries, respectively. We identify them as transitions between the spin-orbit multiplets of the Rh ions, in close analogy to the spin-orbit excitons in the Mott insulators Sr_{2}IrO_{4} and α-RuCl_{3}. This observation provides direct evidence for the unquenched spin-orbit coupling in Sr_{2}RhO_{4}.

While the bulk strontium titanate (STO) crystal characteristics are relatively well known, ultrathin perovskites' nanostructure, chemical composition, and crystallinity are quite complex and challenging to understand in detail. In our study, the DFT methods were used for modelling the Raman spectra of the STO bulk (space group I4/mcm) and 5-21-layer thin films (layer group p4/mbm) in tetragonal phase with different thicknesses ranging from ~0.8 to 3.
