The transport properties of disordered systems are known to depend critically on dimensionality. We study the diffusion coefficient of a quantum particle confined to a lattice on the surface of a tube, where it scales between the 1D and 2D limits. It is found that the scaling relation is universal and independent of the temperature, disorder, and noise parameters, and the essential order parameter is the ratio between the localization length in 2D and the circumference of the tube. Phenomenological and quantitative expressions for transport properties as functions of disorder and noise are obtained and applied to real systems: In the natural chlorosomes found in light-harvesting bacteria the exciton transfer dynamics is predicted to be in the 2D limit, whereas a family of synthetic molecular aggregates is found to be in the homogeneous limit and is independent of dimensionality.

With the increasing popularity of electric transportation over the past several years, fast-charging lithium-ion batteries are highly demanded for shortening electric vehicles' charging time. Extensive efforts have been made on material development and electrode engineering; however, few of them are scalable and cost-effective enough to be potentially incorporated into the current battery production. Here, we propose a facile magnetic templating method for preparing LiFePO (LFP) cathodes with vertically aligned graphene sheets to realize fast-charging properties at a practical loading of 20 mg cm.

As bacterial contamination crises escalate, the development of advanced membranes possessing both high flux and antibacterial properties is of paramount significance for enhancing water sterilization efficiency. Herein, an ultrathin layer of TbPa (an imine-linked covalent organic framework) and nanosized CuO clusters, sequentially deposited onto polyethersulfone membranes, demonstrate exceptional water flux performance, reaching a permeance level of 16000 LHM bar. The deposited TbPa, generating uniformly distributed reduction sites under illumination, facilitates the uniform formation of CuO clusters.

In the field of organic electronics and optics, there is rapidly growing interest in enhancing both charge transport and the ion transport properties of semiconductors, particularly in light of recent emerging technologies such as organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs) and switchable organic nanoantennas. Herein, we propose a universal method for internalizing the ionic transport properties of conventional polymer semiconductors. The incorporation of a tetrafluorophenyl azide-based photochemical cross-linker with a tetraethylene glycol bridge into poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) significantly enhances the performance and operational stability of ion-gating devices.

The accumulation of construction solid waste (CSW) leads to the waste of land resources and environmental pollution, becoming a significant social problem. Identifying the amount of high-value CSW is essential for assessing the value of accumulated CSW and formulating appropriate recycling strategies. With the development of machine learning technology, CSW recognition techniques combining image acquisition devices and convolutional neural networks have been widely applied.

Dissolved organic matter (DOM), as the most active soil component, plays a crucial role in regulating the transport of contaminants. Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) have been found to be widespread contaminants in the soil environment, and their migration would be also affected by DOM. Herein, the surface and subsurface soil samples collected from two PFAS manufacturing factories were studied for the variation characteristics of DOM under PFAS contamination, and the interaction between DOM and PFAS in soil was further explored.
