Background And Objectives: Spontaneous intracranial hypotension is recognized as a cause for refractory headache. Treatment can range from blind blood patch injection to microsurgical repair of the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak. The objective of the study was to investigate the safety and efficacy of the targeted blood patch injection (TBPI) technique through a mini-open approach in treatment of refractory intracranial hypotension.

Recent developments in chemotherapy for gynecologic malignancies have improved treatment results in patients and promoted long-term survival. However, various adverse events caused by long-term chemotherapy are still being observed. Here, we report a case of myelodysplastic syndrome that developed during chemotherapy for recurrent ovarian cancer and progressed to acute myeloid leukemia.

Immunotherapy such as bevacizumab and pembrolizumab is used to treat an increasing number of malignancies. These medications have been associated with poor wound healing and several gastrointestinal complications, including intestinal perforations in rare cases. We present a unique case of a patient with metastatic cervical cancer on pembrolizumab and recent bevacizumab therapy, presenting with a colonic perforation requiring urgent exploratory laparotomy, in the setting of active infection.

Background: Evidence-based speech therapy involves the integration of (1) the scientific evidence for therapy with (2) the perspectives of clinicians concerning therapy and (3) the perspectives of patients about therapy. The cleft literature has already paid attention to the first two cornerstones of evidence-based speech therapy. Much less is known about how children perceive cleft speech therapy.
