Objective: This study aimed to investigate the seroprevalance of leishmaniasis in dogs from Hatay and Burdur provinces of Turkey and Northern Cyprus.

Methods: Blood was collected from a total of 278 dogs, including 124 from Hatay, 49 from Burdur, and 105 from Northern Cyprus. Dilutions of serum samples were prepared, and the presence of anti-Leishmania antibodies was investigated by indirect fluorescent antibody technique (IFAT).

Results: A total of three dogs were found to be seropositive (1.1%), one from Hatay (0.8%) and two from Northern Cyprus (1.9%). Also, one dog (0.4%) from Northern Cyprus was found to be borderline positive. All dogs from Burdur have been identified as seronegative.

Conclusion: This is the first research on the seroprevalence of the parasite in dogs from Hatay and Burdur. The seropositivity detected in dogs from Hatay and Northern Cyprus demonstrates the presence of the parasite in these regions, and obtained results contribute data on the prevalence of the disease in an epidemiological manner. To obtain more reliable data, it will be useful to conduct studies on wider dog populations and vector sandflies.

IPEM topical report: guidance on 3D printing in radiotherapy.

There has been an increase in the availability and utilization of commercially available 3D printers in radiotherapy, with applications in phantoms, brachytherapy applicators, bolus, compensators, and immobilization devices. Additive manufacturing in the form of 3D printing has the advantage of rapid production of personalized patient specific prints or customized phantoms within a short timeframe. One of the barriers to uptake has been the lack of guidance.

species are dematiaceous hyphomycetes that are characterised by acropleurogenous, dictyoseptate, campanulate or cheiroid, and brown to dark brown conidia that are composed of several layers of cells radiating from a protuberant basal cell, and mostly seen with appendages arising from the apical cells. The genus was introduced based on morphology to accommodate five of the six species that exhibited holoblastic conidial ontogeny. was referred to as Ascomycota genus as it was challenging to resolve its taxonomic placement based solely on the available morphological data (no DNA sequence data was previously available).

Background: The 313-variant polygenic risk score (PRS) provides a promising tool for clinical breast cancer risk prediction. However, evaluation of the PRS across different European populations which could influence risk estimation has not been performed.

Methods: We explored the distribution of PRS across European populations using genotype data from 94,072 females without breast cancer diagnosis, of European-ancestry from 21 countries participating in the Breast Cancer Association Consortium (BCAC) and 223,316 females without breast cancer diagnosis from the UK Biobank.

Objective: Resistance to thyroid hormone beta (RTHβ) is a rare disorder characterized by a fairly heterogeneous clinical presentation due to varying degrees of tissue response to thyroid hormone. The study aimed to evaluate the clinical, laboratory features and genotype-phenotype relationship of Turkish patients with RTHβ.

Methods: Patients who underwent a THRB gene analysis between September 2019 and September 2023 were retrospectively reviewed.
