The aggregation phenomenon of Azure B, monobrominated Azure B, Thionine and Methylene Blue was studied by UV-Visible spectrophotometry in different media as a function of dye concentration and temperature variations. The tests carried out in organic solvents allowed the identification of monomeric species of these compounds, which have not been reported in literature and have been wrongly assigned for years. The results obtained in water allowed demonstrating that different kinds of aggregates are present in this medium. In addition, the aggregation tendency of these dyes in organic solvent and aqueous media was established. Several parameters such as lipophilicity, effect of bulky substituents and interactions with media were considered to interpret the aggregation behavior of thiazine dyes.

In the present study, a norfloxacin (NFX) fluorescent probe was tailored for the spectrofluorometric measurement of cefepime (CFP). The proposed approach measured the quenching effect of CFP on the fluorescence intensity of NFX in acetate buffer solution. The obtained results show that CFP strongly quenches the fluorescence of NFX in a static mechanism.

Buprofezin (BUP) is an insect growth regulator widely used in agriculture to control hemipteran pests, particularly the melon aphid, Aphis gossypii, due to its efficiency and low toxicity. Although approved by the Chinese government, its maximum residue limit (MRL) in food is strictly regulated, and conventional techniques for detecting BUP have several limitations. Our study reports successful BUP detection using a supramolecular fluorescent probe DP@ALB, constructed with chalcone-based fluorescent dye DP and albumin as the host.

Tracing individual cell pathways among the whole population is crucial for understanding their behavior, cell communication, migration dynamics, and fate. Optical labeling is one approach for tracing individual cells, but it typically requires genetic modification to induce the generation of photoconvertible proteins. Nevertheless, this approach has limitations and is not applicable to certain cell types.

Water pollutants of non-biodegradable toxic aromatic dye including Methylene blue (MB) and Rhodamine (RhB) are extremely carcinogenic thiazines used in various industries such as leather industry, paper industry, and the dyeing industry. The presence of dyes in wastewater causes severe threats to human health that are responsible for various harmful chronic or acute diseases and also shows an adverse impact on the environment as it reduces transparency and is harmful to water microorganisms. To overcome severe issues, many traditional techniques have been used to remove toxic pollutants, but these methods are insufficient to remove chemically stable dyes that remain in the treated wastewater.
