Electric vehicles (EVs) are crucial for addressing the intertwined challenges of climate change and air pollution. The multiaspect benefits of EVs are highly dependent on local climate conditions, yet the impacts of regional heterogeneity in the context of future climate change remain unclear. Here, we develop a systemic modeling framework integrating fleet modeling, emission projection, index decomposition analysis, and detailed cost assessment to identify local drivers and potential trade-offs behind electrification.

Importance: A substantial number of individuals worldwide experience long COVID, or post-COVID condition. Other postviral and autoimmune conditions have a female predominance, but whether the same is true for long COVID, especially within different subgroups, is uncertain.
Objective: To evaluate sex differences in the risk of developing long COVID among adults with SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Oxidant (OX), the sum of ozone (O) and nitrogen dioxide (NO), is used to determine nitrogen oxides (NO)-independent regional contribution and NO-dependent local contribution. This study investigates OX trends and its local and regional levels in Tehran, Iran using the data from 21 monitoring stations from 2012 to 2022 and satellite remote sensing data (TROPOMI) for 2022. The spatiotemporal trends of O, NO, and OX are first examined using ground-based and remote sensing data, and then the polar plots are employed to identify the dominant directions of OX transport and its sources.

The Black Sea is affected by numerous anthropogenic pressures, such as eutrophication and pollution through coastal and river discharges, fisheries overexploitation, species invasions, and the impacts of climate change. Growing concerns regarding the cumulative effects of these pressures have necessitated the need for an ecosystem approach to assessing the state of this basin. In recent years, the European Commission-JRC has developed a scientific and modelling tool, the Blue2 Modelling Framework with the aim of exploring the consequences of EU management and policy options on marine ecosystems.

Background And Objectives: Primary objectives: to compare the rates of sustained clinical remission at 12 months in patients treated with antitumour necrosis factor (anti-TNF) and immunomodulators who withdraw anti-TNF treatment versus those who maintain it.
Secondary Objectives: to evaluate the effect of anti-TNF withdrawal on relapse-free time, endoscopic and radiological activity, safety, quality of life and work productivity; and to identify predictive factors for relapse.
Design: Prospective, quadruple-blind, multicentre, randomised, controlled trial.
