Introduction: Laminoplasty is a widely used surgical procedure to decompress the cervical spinal cord. Recently, titanium plates (TPs) have been used instead of conventional hydroxyapatite block (HA) spacers to prevent laminar reclosure. However, no study has compared the cost-effectiveness of TP and HA.

Intra-operative pulmonary artery pressure, as measured by Swan-Ganz catheter, was suprasystemic and managed with inodilators. She developed postoperative right ventricular dysfunction requiring inotropes, incremental pulmonary vasodilators and prolonged oxygen supplementation.

Introduction: Optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) reflects intracranial pressure and is increased in pre-eclampsia. Administrating a significant volume of epidural solution into the epidural space can potentially increase ONSD. We investigated the impact of epidural local anesthetic injection on ONSD in patients with pre-eclampsia.

: This pilot study aimed to evaluate the clinical effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, and safety of acupotomy combined with epidural steroid injection (ESI) in lumbosacral radiculopathy and examine its feasibility for the main study. : This randomized, controlled, two-arm, parallel, assessor-blinded, pragmatic study included 50 patients with severe lumbosacral radiculopathy who had insufficient improvement after an ESI. Patients were randomized (1:1 ratio) into a combined treatment (acupotomy + ESI, experimental) and an ESI single treatment (control) group.

Primary failure of thoracic epidural analgesia (TEA) remains an important clinical problem, whose incidence can exceed 20% in teaching centers. Since loss-of-resistance (LOR) constitutes the most popular method to identify the thoracic epidural space, the etiology of primary TEA failure can often be attributed to LOR's low specificity. Interspinous ligamentous cysts, non-fused ligamenta flava, paravertebral muscles, intermuscular planes, and thoracic paravertebral spaces can all result in non-epidural LORs.
