Primary duodenal adenocarcinoma is a rare disease, and cases with nodal metastases have a poor prognosis. A 46-year-old man complaining of bloody stool visited our hospital. Endoscopy, CT, and PET-CT showed adenocarcinoma in the 2nd portion of the duodenum. We performed radical resection (PpPD) and pathological findings showed T3N1M0 (Stage III). Chemotherapy consisting of FOLFOX6 was administered for 6 months after surgery. The patient was alive without recurrence 5 years later. This case suggests that adjuvant chemotherapy (FOLFOX regimen) following curative resection including lymph node removal is an effective treatment for cases with tumor involvement of the lymph nodes.

Endometriosis is a chronic disease characterised by the presence of endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity, affecting 5-15% of women, especially those of reproductive age. The disease may manifest itself as dysmenorrhoea, dyspareunia, sterility and chronic pelvic pain, among other symptoms. Although it is not malignant, it shares some characteristics with cancer and can lead to epithelial ovarian carcinoma.

Hyperthermia is an adjuvant to chemotherapy and radiotherapy and sensitizes tumors to these treatments. However, repeated heat treatments result in acquisition of heat resistance (thermotolerance) in tumors. Thermotolerance is an adaptive survival response that appears to be mediated by upregulated cellular defenses.

Mixed neuroendocrine-non-neuroendocrine neoplasm (MiNEN) of the colon is rare with a poor prognosis. Since the first description of a mixed neoplasm 100 years ago, the nomenclature has evolved, most recently with the 2022 World Health Organization (WHO) classification system. We describe our experience of a case of locoregionally advanced MiNEN of the descending colon treated with curative laparoscopic resection and adjuvant chemotherapy.

Adjuvant chemotherapy is a well-established treatment for large-breed dogs with appendicular osteosarcoma; however, it is unclear if it improves outcomes in small-breed dogs due to limited focused studies. This retrospective study aimed to investigate the oncologic outcomes of dogs weighting less than 15 kg with appendicular osteosarcoma that underwent curative resection with or without postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy. Endpoints were time to distant progression (TTDP) and overall survival (OS).

Background: FOLFIRI (5-FU + leucovorin + irinotecan) plus ramucirumab is one of the standards in second-line metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC) patients progressing after treatment with oxaliplatin/fluoropyrimidine with bevacizumab, but there is no evidence on its efficacy without prior bevacizumab. Moreover, VEGF-D has not been confirmed as a predictive biomarker for ramucirumab's efficacy, either.
Methods: The RAINCLOUD study was a multicenter, single-arm, phase II trial conducted in Japan.
