Background: The ring-augmented Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (raRYGB) has been reported to result in higher long-term weight loss compared to regular Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB). However, the type of ring used varied within studies, leading to heterogeneity in reported results. Therefore, this study compares the 5-year results of RYGB with and without ring augmentation using a specific prefabricated gastric ring.

Division of General Surgery, Bariatric Unit, Tel Aviv Medical Center, Affiliated to Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, 6, Weizman St, 6423906, Tel- Aviv, Israel.

Background: Safety in one anastomosis gastric bypass (OAGB) is judged by outcomes, but it seems reasonable to utilize best practices for safety, whose performance can be evaluated and therefore improved. We aimed to test an artificial intelligence-based model in real world for the evaluation of adherence to best practices in OAGB.Please check and confirm that the authors and their respective affiliations have been correctly identified and amend if necessary.

Background: Individuals with severe obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus have reduced secretion of incretins by L cells. Studies suggest an increase in L cell activity according to the length of the Biliopancreatic Loop (BPL).

Objective: Compare the effect of biliopancreatic loop extension on the number and expression of L cells in patients undergoing RYGB METHODS: Subjects (n = 13) undergoing RYGB with a BPL of 100 cm (G1) or 200 cm (G2).

Background: One Anastomosis Gastric Bypass (OAGB) is a modification of Mason's loop bypass procedure, which has become a well-established procedure in the field of Bariatric and Metabolic surgery (BMS). However, the optimal length of Biliopancreatic Limb (BPL) in OAGB remains an ongoing debate.

Objective: This review aims to analyse the current trends and evidence regarding different BPL lengths in OAGB and their impact on outcomes.

Metabolic and bariatric surgery (MBS) is an effective intervention for patients with severe obesity and metabolic comorbidities, particularly when non-surgical weight loss methods prove insufficient. MBS has shown significant potential for improving quality of life and metabolic health outcomes in individuals with obesity, yet it carries inherent risks. Although these procedures offer a multifaceted approach to obesity treatment and its clinical advantages are well-documented, the limited understanding of its long-term outcomes and the role of multidisciplinary care pose challenges.
