Background And Objective: Tissue microarray (TMA) is a method of harvesting small disks of tissue from a range of standard paraffin tissue blocks and placing them in an array on a recipient paraffin block such that hundreds of cases can be analyzed simultaneously by using only a few microliters of antibody in immunohistochemistry as a single experiment. The TMA construction done with the help of automated tissue arrayer or commercially available rubber molds are expensive. This study involved the fabrication of TMA using rubber-based additional silicone mold constructed in the department and comparison of this method with two other methods of fabricating TMA.

Materials And Methods: The TMA mold was fabricated using silicone material in the department. The recipient blocks were prepared. The tissue core prepared from donor blocks were inserted into the recipient blocks. The sections taken from this were compared with the TMA using double-sided adhesive tape technique and TMA by punching out holes in prefabricated dummy paraffin recipient block for insertion of tissue core.

Results: The TMA using a mold made of silicone showed more advantages than other two methods.

Conclusion: Fabricating TMA mold using silicone in the department is inexpensive and yet efficient.

The Ni-rich LiNiCoMnO cathode (NCM, ≥ 0.6) suffers rapid capacity decay due to serious surface degradations from the corrosion of the electrolyte. The processes of the HO- and O-based AlO atomic layer deposition (ALD) on the single-crystal LiNiCoMnO (NCM83) are investigated by measurements to understand the mechanism of their different impacts on the electrochemical performance of NCM83.

The ever-growing demand for reducing costs and decreasing the time to market in today's plastics industry makes rapid tooling and rapid prototyping highly researched areas. Stereolithography (SLA)-manufactured injection mold inserts make it possible to produce prototype parts rapidly and cost-effectively. To utilize SLA in the injection molding industry, two steps have to be considered.

Article Synopsis
  • Researchers developed a new catalyst, IrO@LaCaFeNiO, that performs well in oxygen evolution reactions across various pH levels, enhancing hydrogen production efficiency.
  • The catalyst showed low overpotentials (120 mV at pH 14, 400 mV at pH 7.2, and 143 mV at pH 1) and maintained stability during durability tests, with minimal element loss.
  • The novel design utilizes strong metal-support interactions to create an amorphous state that promotes a new reaction pathway, breaking traditional limits and offering a promising approach for efficient catalysts in diverse conditions.

Trimethylamine (TMA) and trimethylamine-N-oxide (TMAO) play a crucial role in many biochemical processes within diverse organisms including animals, plants, fungi and bacteria. Studies have linked these metabolites with cardiovascular and kidney diseases; however, emerging evidence demonstrates their protective properties. Owing to these controversies and co-existence of these metabolites in biological samples, it is crucial to accurately quantify these metabolites to associate their concentrations with various physiological and pathophysiological conditions to elucidate their potential roles.
