Background: Finasteride and doxazosin are used for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) plays an important role in BPH, little is known about the growth inhibition and anti-fibrosis effects of doxazosin on the regulation of EMT and morphology in the prostate.
Objectives: The present study examined the effects of doxazosin on testosterone propionate (TP)-induced prostate growth in vivo and in vitro and its impact on the EMT and TGF-β/Smad signaling pathway.
Case report: Pheochromocytoma-induced pseudo-Cushing's syndrome.

Wnt signaling is a critical pathway implicated in cancer development, with Frizzled proteins, particularly FZD10, playing key roles in tumorigenesis and recurrence. This study focuses on the potential of repurposed FDA-approved drugs targeting FZD10 as a therapeutic strategy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). The tertiary structure of human FZD10 was constructed using homology modeling, validated by Ramachandran plot and ProQ analysis.

Drugs blocking the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system may offer benefit on endothelial function, inflammation, and hemostasis in addition to the effects of reducing blood pressure. We have shown antithrombin effects by treatment with the angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor ramipril. As thrombin is a key inducer of platelet aggregation, we hypothesized that treatment with ramipril could modulate platelet reactivity and endothelial glycocalyx (eGCX) function.
