Lower back pain (LBP) has been the leading cause of disability since 1990. : The main objective of this observational case-control study was to evaluate, using ultrasound, whether there were differences in the onset and ratio of core muscle contraction between subjects with non-specific chronic lower back pain and healthy subjects. : A total of 60 participants (52% women), split between those with non-specific chronic lower back pain ( = 26) and healthy ( = 34) subjects, were recruited.

The optic nerve sheath is a rare site for schwannoma, to our knowledge 19 optic nerve sheath schwannoma (ONSS) cases have been reported. Difficulty can arise in diagnosis as imaging findings can be relatively non-specific. We describe a case of ONSS that mimicked orbital cavernous venous malformation pre-operatively.

Machine learning models for classifying non-specific neck pain using craniocervical posture and movement.

Musculoskelet Sci Pract

June 2024

Department of Precision Medicine, Yonsei University Wonju College of Medicine, Wonju, 26426, Republic of Korea; Department of Medical Informatics and Biostatistics, Graduate School, Yonsei University, Republic of Korea. Electronic address:

Objective: Physical therapists and clinicians commonly confirm craniocervical posture (CCP), cervical retraction, and craniocervical flexion as screening tests because they contribute to non-specific neck pain (NSNP). We compared the predictive performance of statistical machine learning (ML) models for classifying individuals with and without NSNP using datasets containing CCP and cervical kinematics during pro- and retraction (CKdPR).

Design: Exploratory, cross-sectional design.

The aim of this report is to present the diagnostic and therapeutic approach in a case of non-specific orbital inflammation complicated with sight-threatening exposure keratopathy. An 81-year-old female patient presented to our Ophthalmology Department for left, painful, unilateral exophthalmia and decreased vision in the same eye. The clinical examination revealed left proptosis, inferior dystopia, upper lid edema, erythema and moderate retraction, ocular motility restriction, chemosis and corneal epithelial defect.
