Introduction: In laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair (LIHR), fixation means for meshes (FMMs) are commonly used to reduce hernia recurrence risk. Their use may result in post-operative pain (PP) and may even increase surgical time (ST). Recently, self-gripping meshes (SGMs) have been developed, which leave aside fixation devices; they could potentially reduce PP and even decrease ST.

There is inconclusive evidence regarding the effect of PUFA intake on gastric cancer in diverse populations. We, therefore, aimed to determine the association between PUFA intake and risk of gastric cancer in a hospital-based case-control study comprising 1182 incident cases of gastric cancer and 2965 controls in Vietnam.

The synthesis of a complex molecule begins from an initial design stage in which possible routes are triaged by strategy and feasibility, based on analogy to similar reactions. However, as molecular complexity increases, predictability decreases; inevitably, even experienced chemists resort to trial-and-error to identify viable intermediates en route to the target molecule. We encountered such a problem in the synthesis of picrotoxane sesquiterpenes in which pattern recognition methods anticipated success, but small variations in structure led to failure.

GaN is an important semiconductor for energy-efficient light-emitting devices. Hydrogen plays a crucial role in gallium nitride (GaN) growth and processing. It can form electrically neutral complexes with acceptors during growth, which significantly increases the acceptor incorporation.

Airborne gamma ray spectrum detection technology is an effective means to measure the concentration and spatial distribution of natural radionuclides in environmental media such as surface rocks and soil during aviation flight. Therefore, it is vital to fully explore the radiation information related to mineralization in airborne gamma spectrometry data and explore the dose distribution law of gamma radiation field of radionuclides in the detection area. This paper is based on the theoretical calculation model of ground-air interface gamma radiation field.
