Combination dosage forms of naproxen sodium and pseudoephedrine hydrochloride are used for symptomatic treatment of cold and sinus disorders. In this study, fourth-order derivative spectrophotometric method was used for simultaneous determination of naproxen sodium and pseudoephedrine hydrochloride. The method was linear over the range of 2-28 μg/ml for pseudoephedrine hydrochloride and 4-200 μg/ml for naproxen sodium. The within-day and between-day coefficient of variation values were less than 5.8% and 2.5% for pseudoephedrine hydrochloride and naproxen sodium, respectively. The application of the proposed method for simultaneous determination of naproxen and pseudoephedrine in dosage forms was demonstrated without any special pretreatment.

Long-term use of naproxen can lead to serious side effects. Inspired by the biological activity of cinnamic acid, a series of cinnamic acid derivatives containing naproxen were designed, synthesized and explored their anti-inflammatory activities and mechanism in vitro. Our results indicated that all of naproxen derivatives showed more significant inhibition against lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced nitric oxide (NO) production and had lower degree of cytotoxicity than that of naproxen.

Poly(DL-lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) and N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP)-based in situ forming implants are liquid formulations that solidify through phase separation following injection into the body. Drug is dissolved or suspended in the final formulation liquid prior to injection. Depending on the polymers used, the depots formed can deliver drug over different periods of time.

A ligand-promoted oxidative dehydrogenation C-H alkenylation of indoles and olefins was achieved using commercial and low-cost Co(NO)·6HO as a catalyst and Mn(OAc) as an oxidant. The design and selection of electrically unique methyl-substituted salicylaldehyde as a ligand is the key to achieve this transformation. This protocol can introduce an indole backbone into diverse bioactive molecules such as ibuprofen, naproxen, and Estrol for late-stage synthetic modification, which has potential applications in the discovery of drug molecules containing an indole motif.

Purpose: To compare the analgesic efficacy, adverse effects, and long-term functional outcomes of perioperative naproxen alone versus naproxen with pregabalin for treating pain in ankle fractures.

Methods: This study included 70 patients who underwent operative fixation of rotatory ankle fractures. Group A received naproxen 500 mg only, and Group B received naproxen 500 mg with pregabalin 75 mg 2-hour before surgery and 12 hourly for 14 days thereafter.

Inflammation is strongly linked to cancer and is essential for the growth and development of tumors. Targeting inflammation and the mediators involved in the inflammatory process could therefore provide a suitable method for cancer prevention and therapy. Numerous studies have shown that inflammation can predispose tumors.
