Objective: Reviewed literature regarding exercise effects on pregnancy-related hypertensive disorders, analyzing basic science perspectives and clinical studies.

Methods: Scientific databases were accessed by research strategy combining Medical Subject Headings terms. Studies published between 2000 and 2015, in English, Portuguese, and Spanish language, were considered.

Results: Studies were classified into: recommendations for exercise on high-risk pregnancy; animal models for hypertension in pregnancy; exercise on hypertensive disorders in animal models and pregnant women.

Conclusion: There are several animal models to mimic hypertensive disorders in pregnancy; however, clinical studies are still needed for exercise recommendation in pregnant women with hypertensive disorders.

Chronic cerebral ischemia (CCI) is one of the most common forms of cerebrovascular disease, which affects a significant number of patients, often leading to disability, cognitive impairment and dementia. The analysis of modern data on the pathogenesis and risk factors for the development of CCI, as well as on the mechanisms of action of Mexidol on various links in the pathogenesis of CCI. Background: Lung transplantation is a viable lifesaving option for patients with diffuse pulmonary arteriovenous malformations (AVMs). We present a case of diffuse pulmonary AVMs associated with juvenile polyposis and hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (JP-HHT) that was successfully managed by lung transplantation.

Background: The aim of our multicenter study was to investigate the implementation of the European Fabry guidelines on therapeutic recommendations in female patients with Fabry disease (FD) and to analyze the impact of enzyme replacement therapy (ERT) in treated and untreated females.

Results: Data from 3 consecutive visits of 159 female FD patients from 6 Fabry centers were retrospectively analyzed. According to their treatment, patients were separated in 3 groups (untreated, n = 71; newly ERT-treated, n = 47; long-term ERT-treated, n = 41).
