The formation of spontaneous epialleles is poorly understood. A new study describes how the formation of epihybrids can lead to the appearance of novel epialleles.

In 2016, the China Securities Regulatory Commission authorized the China Securities Investor Services Center (CSISC), a not-for-profit institution, to buy and hold 100 shares of listed firms in pilot regions. Exploiting CSISC shareholding as an exogenous shock, we employ a difference-in-differences analysis of a sample of listed firms from to 2013-2017 to investigate whether CSISC shareholding can promote corporate green innovation. Our results show that CSISC shareholding play a significant role in promoting corporate green innovation.

Background: Group A Streptococci (GAS) may cause infections of the pharynx and soft tissues and invasive infections in children (iGAS). A significant increase in severe iGAS infections has been reported in Europe since the fall of 2022.
Objectives: This retrospective study aims to analyse clinical data of children with invasive and non-invasive GAS infections in the post-COVID-19 pandemic era, searching for predisposing factors to developing invasive infections.

Sepsis is a severe immune response to pathogens that is associated with high mortality rate and a paucity of efficacious treatment options. It is characterized by the hyperactivation of macrophages and the occurrence of cytokine storms. Given the anti-inflammatory properties of M2 macrophages and their derived apoptotic bodies (AB), as well as the specific uptake of these by macrophages, a novel approach was employed to combine AB with artificial liposomes to create apoptotic body based biomimetic hybrid nanovesicles (L-AB).

Introduction: Diazoxide is the first-line treatment for children with hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia (HI). In these cases, diazoxide raises blood glucose levels by suppressing insulin release, preventing hypoglycemia, and potentially devastating end-organ sequelae. Hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state (HHS) is an exceedingly rare side effect of diazoxide.

The dynamics of initial long-wavelength excitations of the Fermi-Pasta-Ulam-Tsingou chain has been the subject of intense investigations since the pioneering work of Fermi and collaborators. We have recently found a regime where the spectrum of the Fourier modes decays with a power law and we have interpreted this regime as a transient turbulence associated with the Burgers equation. In this paper we present the full derivation of the latter equation from the lattice dynamics using an infinite-dimensional Hamiltonian perturbation theory.
