Objectives: Neuroendocrine coupling across adolescent transition conditions a stage of heightened variability in hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis stress reactivity, likely impacting the adaptive physiological response to psychological stressors during adolescence. This study aimed to assess the salivary cortisol, DHEA, and cortisol/DHEA ratio variation in response to acute academic stress and its association with academic performance.
Methods: A longitudinal observational study with a combined event- and time-based protocol was conducted.

Background: Pan-enteric capsule endoscopy (PCE) provides useful information for the management of Crohn's disease (CD), especially in children. No study has evaluated the ability of PCE to characterize CD phenotypes and outcomes in children and adults.
Methods: In a prospective multicenter observational study, we recruited patients with CD >6 years from 4 centers in Italy.

Purpose: In 2018, the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine incorporated two-stage examinations into the gross anatomy curriculum. Multiple studies have investigated two-stage examinations and have largely reported positive findings. Here, we used a mixed-methods approach to further investigate the feasibility and student perceptions of the two-stage examination in the context of a medical school curriculum that emphasizes longitudinal group-based learning and formative assessments.

Introduction: Item analysis (IA) is widely used to assess the quality of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The objective of this study was to perform a comprehensive quantitative and qualitative item analysis of two types of MCQs: single best answer (SBA) and extended matching questions (EMQs) currently in use in the Final Pediatrics undergraduate exam.
Methodology: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted.
