We use Hyper Rayleigh Scattering and polarization resolved multiphoton microscopy to investigate simultaneously the second and third-order nonlinear response of Potassium Niobate and Bismuth Ferrite harmonic nanoparticles. We first derive the second-to-third harmonic intensity ratio for colloidal ensembles and estimate the average third-order efficiency of these two materials. Successively, we explore the orientation dependent tensorial response of individual nanoparticles fixed on a substrate. The multi-order polarization resolved emission curves are globally fitted with an analytical model to retrieve individual elements of susceptibility tensors.

Background: Cortical morphometry is an intermediate phenotype that is closely related to the genetics and onset of major depressive disorder (MDD), and cortical morphometric networks are considered more relevant to disease mechanisms than brain regions. We sought to investigate changes in cortical morphometric networks in MDD and their relationship with genetic risk in healthy controls.
Methods: We recruited healthy controls and patients with MDD of Han Chinese descent.

Recently, robust d-wave superconductive (SC) order has been unveiled in the ground state of the 2D t-t^{'}-J model-with both nearest-neighbor (t) and next-nearest-neighbor (t^{'}) hoppings-by density matrix renormalization group studies. However, there is currently a debate on whether the d-wave SC holds up strong on both t^{'}/t>0 and t^{'}/t<0 cases for the t-t^{'}-J model, which correspond to the electron- and hole-doped sides of the cuprate phase diagram, respectively. Here, we exploit state-of-the-art thermal tensor network approach to accurately obtain the phase diagram of the t-t^{'}-J model on cylinders with widths up to W=6 and down to low temperature as T/J≃0.

Background: Schizophrenia (SZ) is a highly heritable and heterogeneous disorder that is often associated with widespread structural brain abnormalities. However, the causes of interindividual differences in genetic susceptibility remain largely unknown. This study attempted to address this important issue by utilizing a prospective study in which unaffected first-degree relatives of SZ (FH+) were recruited.

Lower limb injuries resulting from sports activities, industrial accidents, and traffic incidents represent a significant global healthcare challenge. These injuries often entail a high risk of complications, especially when fractures are associated with substantial soft tissue damage. Open fractures classified as Gustilo type II or III are particularly susceptible to complications such as fistula and osteomyelitis.

Middle-aged and older adults with autism spectrum disorder may be susceptible to accelerated neurobiological changes in striato- and thalamo-cortical tracts due to combined effects of typical aging and existing disparities present from early neurodevelopment. Using magnetic resonance imaging, we employed diffusion-weighted imaging and automated tract-segmentation to explore striato- and thalamo-cortical tract microstructure and volume differences between autistic (n = 29) and typical comparison (n = 33) adults (40 to 70 years old). Fractional anisotropy, mean diffusivity, and tract volumes were measured for 14 striato-cortical and 12 thalamo-cortical tract bundles.
