Silver selenide quantum dots (AgSe QDs) show great advantages in tumor imaging due to their excellent optical performance and good biocompatibility. However, the ultrasmall particle size of AgSe QDs allows them to cross the blood-brain barrier, thus potentially affecting the central nervous system. Therefore, risk assessment and response strategies for AgSe QDs are important.

Fluorescent ultrasmall nanoparticles (d < 10 nm), such as carbon nanodots (CDs), are promising nanosystems for precision cancer therapy. Their optimal size allows them to diffuse within complex microenvironments, enabling drug delivery, imaging, and monitoring. Additionally, CDs can be engineered to hold inherent nanotoxicity toward cancer cells, overcoming multidrug resistance associated with conventional drugs.

Electronic address:

Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic inflammatory disease of the colon that poses significant therapeutic challenges due to the intestinal mucus and epithelial barriers. In this study, ultra-small zwitterionic nanoparticles (HC-CB NPs) is developed based on glutathione (GSH)-responsive hyperbranched polycarbonate to enhance the oral delivery of drugs and overcome these physiological barriers. HC-CB NPs demonstrate high colloidal stability across a wide range of pH environments and physiological fluids, preventing premature drug release within the gastrointestinal tract.

Objective: Distributed arrays of wireless neural interfacing chips with 1-2 channels each, known as "neural dust", could enhance brain machine interfaces (BMIs) by removing the wired connection through the scalp and increasing biocompatibility with their submillimeter size. Although several approaches for neural dust have emerged, a procedure for implanting them in batches that builds upon the safety and performance of currently used electrodes remains to be demonstrated.

Approach: Here, we demonstrate the feasibility of implanting batches of wireless motes that rest on the cortical surface with carbon fiber electrodes of subcellular diameter (6.

The chain conformation of conjugated oligomers are critical for constructing ultrafine fluorescent nanoprobes with outstanding sensing performances owing to their suitable molecular flexibility and fine-tuned aggregation state. Herein, a series of pyrenyl-pyridine oligomers (OPPs) were designed and conveniently prepared by one-pot Sonogashira coupling of flexible 2,6-bis(ethynyl)pyridine with different rigid pyrene unit. Novel fluorescent nanoprobes (OPPNPs, ca.
