In the experiments on rabbits histological specimens with embolus radiopaque by iodides, bromides of silver and by (3-amino-2,4,6-triiodobenzyl) oil acid have been investigated 7 days after implantation. Optimum emboli were used in clinical practice during preoperative procedure for endovascular occlusion of liver and kidney arteries.

Background: During mammalian spermatogenesis, the cytoskeleton system plays a significant role in morphological changes. Male infertility such as non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA) might be explained by studies of the cytoskeletal system during spermatogenesis.

Methods: The cytoskeleton, scaffold, and actin-binding genes were analyzed by microarray and bioinformatics (771 spermatogenic cellsgenes and 774 Sertoli cell genes).

Background: Nonocclusive mesenteric ischemia (NOMI), a subtype of acute mesenteric ischemia, is primarily caused by mesenteric arterial vasoconstriction and decreased vascular resistance, leading to impaired intestinal perfusion.Commonly observed after cardiac surgery, NOMI affects older patients with cardiovascular or systemic diseases, accounting for 20-30% of acute mesenteric ischemia cases with a mortality rate of ∼50%. This review explores NOMI's pathophysiology, clinical implications in aortic dissection, and the unmet needs in diagnosis and management, emphasizing its prognostic significance.

Kojic Acid Derivative as an Antimitotic Agent That Selectively Kills Tumour Cells.

Pharmaceuticals (Basel)

December 2024

Department of Medical Sciences and Public Health, University of Cagliari, Cittadella Universitaria, 09042 Monserrato, Italy.

The primary method used to pharmacologically arrest cancer development and its metastasis is to disrupt the cell division process. There are a few approaches that may be used to meet this objective, mainly through inhibiting DNA replication or mitosis. Despite intensive studies on new chemotherapeutics, the biggest problem remains the side effects associated with the inhibition of cell division in non-tumoural host cells.

For change detection in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imagery, amplitude change detection (ACD) and coherent change detection (CCD) are widely employed. However, time-series SAR data often contain noise and variability introduced by system and environmental factors, requiring mitigation. Additionally, the stability of SAR signals is preserved when calibration accounts for temporal and environmental variations.

The Expression Pattern and Functional Analysis of Extracellular Vesicle Long Non-Coding RNAs from Uterine Fluid During Implantation in Pig.

Animals (Basel)

January 2025

State Key Laboratory of Swine and Poultry Breeding Industry, National Engineering Research Center for Breeding Swine Industry, College of Animal Science, South China Agricultural University, Guangzhou 510642, China.

Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) act as competing endogenous RNAs and play significant roles in porcine embryo development. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) in the uterine fluid (UF) can target and deliver maternal endometrial signalling molecules to embryonic trophoblast cells, exerting crucial regulatory effects during embryo implantation. However, the specific roles of lncRNAs carried by UF-EVs during the embryo implantation period have not been thoroughly reported in the literature.
