Cystic dilatation of bulbourethral gland ducts (Cowper's gland syringocele) is a rare abnormality. The condition has been described among pediatric populations, but it is uncommon in adults. It can be asymptomatic or present with obstructive and irritative urinary symptoms. We report a case of a symptomatic imperforate Cowper's syringocele in a young patient that was successfully managed with transurethral unroofing of the cyst.

Article Synopsis
  • The study analyzes prostatic abscess (PA), focusing on its clinical features, imaging traits, treatment options, and outcomes based on 11 cases treated at a hospital from 2016 to 2022.
  • Most patients were middle-aged with comorbidities like diabetes and experienced symptoms such as dysuria; imaging techniques like CT and MRI were essential for diagnosis.
  • The findings suggest that while some patients improved with antibiotics alone, those who underwent surgery (transurethral PA unroofing) showed better outcomes, highlighting the need for surgical intervention in certain cases.

An 85 year-old man was referred to our hospital because of a relapse of abscess after open surgical drainage of the right scrotum. Computed tomography (CT) showed fluid accumulation in the right scrotum and around the membranous urethra. The abscess was controlled by an open surgical drainage of the right scrotum, CT guided percutaneous drainage of the periurethral abscess and administration of antibiotics.

Background: We aimed to investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of transurethral flexible ureteroscopic incision and drainage with holmium laser in the treatment of parapelvic renal cysts.

Materials And Methods: Between October 2017 and April 2021, the clinical data of 65 patients with parapelvic renal cysts were evaluated retrospectively. Thirty-one patients with parapelvic cysts (Group 1) underwent a transurethral flexible ureteroscopic incision and drainage with a holmium laser, whereas the other 34 patients (Group 2) underwent retroperitoneal laparoscopic unroofing.
