Five cases of gonitis in young cows are reported. In all cases lameness was severe with no weight bearing on the affected limbs. The joints were swollen. No organisms were isolated from the fluids aspirated from the joints but cytological examination showed large numbers of neutrophils, and biochemical analysis showed increases in the activities of aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase and lactate dehydrogenase.

Background: An accurate diagnosis of septic versus reactive or autoimmune arthritis remains clinically challenging. A multi-omics strategy comprising metagenomic and proteomic technologies were undertaken for children diagnosed with presumed septic arthritis to advance clinical diagnoses and care for affected individuals.
Methods: Twelve children with suspected septic arthritis were prospectively enrolled to compare standard of care tests with a rapid multi-omics approach.

Introduction: Folate receptors (FR) have been considered a convenient target for different radiopharmaceuticals in recent years. Multifarious Ga-labeled folate conjugates have been proposed as promising agents for the PET imaging of FR-overexpressing malignant neoplasms. In addition, radiolabeled folate-based conjugates can be effective for imaging non-tumor pathological foci characterized by a pronounced cluster of activated macrophages.

Celiac disease (CD) is a chronic illness. Blood testing for tissue transglutaminase antibodies is the initial screening test for the diagnosis of CD, and upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and duodenal/jejunal biopsy are used to confirm CD. Intussusception (IS) is the process in which a proximal segment of the bowel invaginates through the lumen of a distal segment.

This case series explores four distinct instances of encapsulating peritoneal sclerosis (EPS), a rare but serious condition characterized by the encapsulation of abdominal viscera, commonly referred to as abdominal cocoon. EPS is associated with severe complications, including bowel obstruction and sepsis, which can significantly impact patient outcomes. The first case involves a 41-year-old male patient who had undergone a liver transplant and ultimately succumbed to extensively drug-resistant (XDR) sepsis.

Arthritis in children has several causes, including infectious, inflammatory, and infiltration of malignant cells, and it is important to differentiate them as soon as possible. We present the case of a 3-year-old boy who was initially diagnosed with septic arthritis secondary to joint pain, swelling, and high fever. Despite appropriate antibiotic therapy, the patient's symptoms persisted, leading to an eventual diagnosis of systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis (sJIA).
