Temporary dorsal plate spondylodesis with transpedunclar screwing has proved successful in the therapy of recent unstable injuries to the spine. This method allows a considerable reconstruction and stabilization of the vertebral body as well as an early mobilization of the patient. The mobility of the spine will not be essentially reduced if the spondylodesis plates are removed early, i.e. six to nine months after their insertion.

Background Aims: Patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) meeting UNOS-downstaging (DS) criteria have excellent post-liver transplantation (LT) outcomes. Studies on HCC beyond UNOS-DS criteria ("All-comers" (AC)) have been limited by small sample size and short follow-up time, prompting this analysis.

Approach Results: 326 patients meeting UNOS-DS and 190 meeting AC criteria from 9 LT centers across 5 UNOS regions were enrolled from 2015 to 2023 and prospectively followed.

Introduction: Thermal ablative methods (such as argon plasma coagulation (APC) and soft tip snare coagulation (STSC) are commonly used to treat polyp margins. Objectives: Pediatric neurocritical care (PNCC) patients experience high rates of morbidity, but comprehensive follow-up is not universal. We sought to identify predictors of functional decline in these children to guide future resource allocation.

Patients And Methods: We conducted a prospective observational study in a quaternary children's hospital pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) from July 2023 to December 2023.

Fundación Valle del Lili, Cali, Colombia.

Advances in the field of genetics and genomics have had a great impact on the clinical practice of the pediatric nephrologist. Access to diagnostic genetic studies for renal pathologies allows not only to confirm specific diagnoses, but also to provide management and follow-up strategies, knowledge about prognosis, and prevention of complications. In addition, it provides genetic counseling to the patient and family and even helps to make decisions about family donor transplantation.
