Background/aims: The purpose of this study is to investigate the recurrence rate of peptic ulcer disease (PUD) over a long follow-up period with PUD patients without Helicobacter pylori.
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed patients diagnosed with PUD on endoscopy and divided them into two groups: a H. pylori-negative group (HP-negative group), and a group of patients with untreated H. pylori (HP noneradicated group). We compared the recurrence rates of PUD in these two groups and analyzed the factors that affected ulcer recurrence.
Results: Total of nine hospitals in Korea participated, and a total of 1,761 patients were retrospectively reviewed. The HP-negative group included 553 patients, and the HP noneradicated group included 372 patients. The 5-year cumulative probabilities of PUD recurrence were 36.4% in the HP-negative group and 43.8% in the HP noneradicated group (p=0.113). The factors that were found to affect recurrence in the HP-negative group were elder, male, and comorbid chronic kidney disease.
Conclusions: The 5-year cumulative probability of PUD recurrence without H. pylori infection after a long-term follow-up was 36.4% and the factors that affected recurrence were elder, male, and comorbid chronic kidney disease.

Aims: This study aims to assess the serum levels of pepsinogen (PG)I, PG II, and gastrin (G17) in patients with gastric intestinal metaplasia (GIM) and evaluate their correlation with demographic characteristics.
Methods: A total of 247 normal controls (NC) and 240 patients diagnosed with GIM were enrolled in this study. All participants underwent a gastroscopy procedure followed by pathological examination for diagnosis confirmation.

Objective: To analyze the factors related to Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection in patients with severe acute pancreatitis (SAP) and to observe the effect of Hp on SAP, and to provide a reference for future clinical prevention and treatment of Hp infection in SAP.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on 77 SAP patients admitted to Pingxiang People's Hospital between January 2020 and February 2022, with 33 Hp-infected individuals as the Hp-positive group and the other 44 patients being without Hp infection served as the Hp-negative group. First, the related factors of Hp infection in SAP patients were analyzed with multiple Logistic regression.

Two cases of colorectal mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma (cMALT) are presented and discussed with the reports from 1997 to the present. Helicobacter pylori ()-negative cases showed tumor resolution 2 months after eradication therapy. -positive cases were successfully eradicated and tumor resolution was confirmed 16 months later.

Extranodal marginal zone lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT lymphoma) are a group of diseases with marked heterogeneity, including clinical, immunohistochemical, and molecular heterogeneity. The disease remains unspecified in the genetic landscape with only a few sequencing studies to date; however, systematic studies of alimentary canal MALT lymphoma have not been reported. To better understand the genetics of this tumor, targeted sequencing in a group of 31 cases (including 2 esophageal, 2 colonic, 4 small intestinal, and 23 gastric cases) and two cases of lymph node hyperplasiawere performed.

Background And Aims: Constipation is one of the most common nonmotor symptoms (NMSs) of Parkinson's disease (PD). The infection rate of Helicobacter pylori (HP) is greater in PD patients. This study was a multicenter prospective cohort study in which propensity score matching (PSM) was used to determine whether HP infection was a risk factor for constipation in patients with PD.
