Objective: We aim to illustrate and evaluate the prevalence and distribution pattern of cervical human papilloma virus (HPV) genotypes on La Réunion Island, a French overseas territory, with the aim to guide future vaccination policies.

Study Design: Between January 2008 and July 2012, files of women undergoing gynaecological examination were retrospectively evaluated at the University Hospital, Reunion Island. Inclusion criteria required cervical biopsies with histopathological diagnosis of high-grade lesions or cancer and ASCUS Pap Smears (atypical squamous cells undetermined significance) results.

Introduction: In Madagascar, cysticercosis, a disease caused by Taenia Solium's larval form, is a public health problem. In 2003, the seroprevalence of cysticercosis ranged between 7% and 21% with a higher rate in the central regions of the island. However, epidemiological data on human cysticercosis have been limited over the last dozen years.

Objectives: In the wake of the Chikungunya epidemic which struck Reunion Island in 2005 and 2006, we conducted a prospective, multicentre study (RHUMATOCHIK) whose main objective was analyse the characteristics and progression of rheumatic manifestations in patients with post-Chikungunya joint pain.

Methods: A cohort of 307 consecutively included patients underwent rheumatological examinations for pain secondary to Chikungunya virus infection. The long-term evaluation was conducted by telephone survey 1 and 2 years after the onset of the viral infection.
