[This corrects the article DOI: 10.1155/2015/343479.]. In the published paper "Genetic and Diet-Induced Obesity Increased Intestinal Tumorigenesis in the Double Mutant Mouse Model Multiple Intestinal Neoplasia X Obese via Disturbed Glucose Regulation and Inflammation" [1] we mistakenly wrote IL-1β instead of IL-6 in Tables 2 and 3. In addition, IL-6 was not included in the text below the tables stating that it was measured by flow cytometer as was TNFα. The corrected tables are presented here.

Background: Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD, formerly known as NAFLD) is a major driver of cirrhosis and liver-related mortality. However, therapeutic options for MASLD, including prevention of liver steatosis, are limited. We previously described that vasoactive intestinal peptide-producing neurons (VIP-neurons) regulate the efficiency of intestinal dietary fat absorption and IL-22 production by type 3 innate lymphoid cells (ILC3) in the intestine.

The prevalence of obesity increases yearly in the world. The traditional local diet of the Western Regions of Cameroon was suspected to be the main contributor to the high prevalence of obesity in these Regions. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of a Cameroon-comparable fat diet on visceral obesity in rats.

Ghrelin-LEAP2 interactions along the stomach-liver axis.

Forefront Research Center, Graduate School of Science, Osaka University, Osaka 560-0043, Japan.

Ghrelin produced in the stomach promotes food intake and GH secretion, and acts as an anabolic peptide during starvation. Ghrelin binds to the growth hormone secretagogue receptor, a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR), whose high-resolution complex structures have been determined in the apo state and when bound to an antagonist. Anamorelin, a low-molecular-weight ghrelin agonist, has been launched in Japan for the treatment of cancer cachexia, and its therapeutic potential has attracted attention due to the various biological activities of ghrelin.

Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is increasingly common but its pathogenesis is poorly understood. The ability to assess genetic and pharmacologic interventions is hampered by the lack of robust preclinical mouse models of HFpEF. We developed a novel "two-hit" model, which combines obesity and insulin resistance with chronic pressure overload to recapitulate clinical features of HFpEF.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates how 4% microalgae (MC) and fermented microalgae (FMC) affect gut bacteria and obesity in male mice, with implications for animal metabolic health.
  • Mice were divided into four diets over 12 weeks, and gut microbiome analysis showed significant changes in microbial communities for those on MC and FMC diets.
  • Results indicated that both MC and FMC could help manage metabolism-related disorders and obesity by altering gut microbiota and enhancing metabolic pathways.
