Aims: The suitability of the DOAC score for assessing bleeding risk in Chinese patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) who are receiving non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants (NOACs) remains unclear. We compared the DOAC score to the HAS-BLED and ORBIT scores in Chinese patients in a real-world retrospective study.

Methods: The efficacy of these scores was assessed by a comparison study that measured their discrimination, calibration, net reclassification index (NRI), and decision curve analysis (DCA) over a 1-year follow-up period.

Purpose: This meta-analysis aimed to conduct a systematic evaluation of the comparative efficacy and safety of new oral anticoagulants (NOACs) versus warfarin for the treatment of deep venous thrombosis (DVT).

Methods: A systematic computerized search of databases including PubMed, Medline, Web of Science, Embase, Cochrane Library, and www.

Stroke is the leading cause of seizures and epilepsy in adults; however, current guidelines lack robust recommendations for treating post-stroke seizures (PSSs) and epilepsy (PSE). This study aims to demonstrate the long-term safety and efficacy of lacosamide combined with non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants (NOACs) in patients with PSE and atrial fibrillation (AF). In this prospective longitudinal single-center study, 53 patients with concomitant PSE and AF, admitted between 2022 and 2023, received NOACs for AF management and lacosamide for seizure control.

Background: There are conflicting published data on the optimal timing of non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants (NOACs) in atrial fibrillation (AF) patients with acute ischemic stroke.

Objective: To compare the efficacy and safety of early initiation of NOACs with later initiation of NOACs in those patients, we conducted a meta-analysis of phase 3 or phase 4 randomized controlled trials.

Methods: We systematically searched the Cochrane Library, PubMed, and Embase databases.

The existing evidence on the use of non-vitamin K oral anticoagulants (NOACs) after transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) surgery is inconclusive and contradictory. Likewise, major society guidelines remain ambivalent about NOAC use around the time of TAVR. The objective of our meta-analysis was to assess the efficacy of NOACs in comparison to vitamin K antagonists (VKAs) in lowering complications following TAVR.
