Sugar limitation has dramatic consequences on plant cells, which include cell metabolism and transcriptional reprogramming, and the recycling of cellular components to maintain fundamental cell functions. There is however no description of the contribution of epigenetic regulations to the adaptation of plant cells to limited carbon availability. High-mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) is a highly conserved nuclear protein involved in key nuclear processes such as DNA repair, replication, and gene regulation. Beyond its established nuclear roles, HMGB1 has crucial functions in the cytoplasm and extracellular environment. When translocated to the cytoplasm, HMGB1 plays a role in autophagy, cell survival, and immune response modulation.

Little is known regarding the effects high-intensity training performed in hypoxia on the oxidative stress and antioxidant systems. The aim of this study was to assess the potential effect of 4 weeks of repeated sprint training in hypoxia (RSH) on the redox balance. Forty male well-trained cyclists were matched into two different interventions (RSH, = 20) or in normoxia, RSN, = 20) and tested twice (before (Pre-) and after (Post-) a 4-week of training) for performance (repeated sprint ability (RSA) test), oxidative stress, and antioxidant status.

Plant-derived polysaccharides have gained significant attention as potential natural antioxidants due to their biocompatibility, biodegradability, and structural versatility.
Methods: This study focuses on the purification, structural characterization, and antioxidant activities of a novel pectin polysaccharide (HFPS) isolated from the flowers of Linn.

Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) is a common and severe neuropsychiatric condition resulting in irregular alterations in affect, mood, and cognition. Besides the well-studied neurotransmission-related etiologies of MDD, several biological systems and phenomena, such as the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, and cytokine signaling, have been implicated as being altered and contributing to depressive symptoms. However, the manner in which these factors interact with each other to induce their effects on MDD development has been less clear, but is beginning to be understood.
