Background: Psychosis, marked by detachment from reality, includes symptoms like hallucinations and delusions. Traditional herbal remedies like kratom are gaining attention for psychiatric conditions. This was aimed at comprehending the molecular mechanisms of Kratom's antipsychotic effects utilizing a multi-modal computational approach.

Background: The increasing use of ChatGPT in clinical practice and medical education necessitates the evaluation of its reliability, particularly in geriatrics.
Objective: This study aimed to evaluate ChatGPT's trustworthiness in geriatrics through 3 distinct approaches: evaluating ChatGPT's geriatrics attitude, knowledge, and clinical application with 2 vignettes of geriatric syndromes (polypharmacy and falls).
Methods: We used the validated University of California, Los Angeles, geriatrics attitude and knowledge instruments to evaluate ChatGPT's geriatrics attitude and knowledge and compare its performance with that of medical students, residents, and geriatrics fellows from reported results in the literature.

Auditory verbal hallucinations (AVHs) in schizophrenia are hypothesized to involve alterations in hemispheric lateralization, but the specific neural mechanisms remain unclear. This study investigated functional intra- and inter-hemispheric connectivity to identify lateralization patterns unique to AVHs. Resting-state fMRI data were collected from 60 schizophrenia patients with persistent AVHs (p-AVH group), 39 patients without AVHs (n-AVH group), and 59 healthy controls (HC group).

Background: Psychosis (broadly delusions and hallucinations) has a cumulative disease prevalence of around 40% in Alzheimer's disease (AD). The epigenomic, genomic, and neuropathological data provide powerful evidence that AD+P has a distinct neurobiological profile. Here, we used the weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) method to investigate DNA methylation associated with AD+P in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex of 153 post-mortem brain samples.

Background: Lewy bodies (LBs), characterized by intraneuronal inclusions of misfolded alpha-synuclein (α-syn) protein, are the pathological hallmark of Parkinson's disease (PD) and dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB). Because this protein is phosphorylated at serine-129 in 90% of LBs, its phosphorylation is considered a crucial pathogenic event in LB formation and disease development. Here, we present a unique brain autopsy case of a DLB patient with widespread LBs that were negative for phosphorylated-α-syn, challenging traditional diagnostic criteria.
