The rotational spectra of two isotopologues (CF3(35)Cl-CO and CF3(37)Cl-CO) of the CF3Cl-CO adduct have been investigated and analyzed using supersonic-jet Fourier transform microwave spectroscopy, and found to have the features of a symmetric top. Rotational, centrifugal distortion, and nuclear quadrupole ((35)Cl and (37)Cl) coupling constants have been precisely obtained from high-resolution measurements. The two subunits of the complex are held together via a ClC halogen bond interaction. Information on the internal dynamics and the dissociation energy of the complex is provided.

Using current water treatment systems, significant amounts of microplastics (MPs) are passing through and being released into the aquatic environment. However, we do not clearly know what effects disinfection processes have had on these particles. In this study, we applied inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) operating in time-resolved analysis (TRA) mode for quantifying changes in the chlorine (Cl) content of MPs under a variety of water treatment scenarios.

Controlling the enantiomeric purity of chiral drugs is of paramount importance in pharmaceutical chemistry. Isotropic H NMR spectroscopy involving chiral agents is a widely used method for discriminating enantiomers and quantifying their relative proportions. However, the relatively weak spectral separation of enantiomers (H Δ(, )) in frequency units at low and moderate magnetic fields, as well as the lack of versatility of a majority of those agents with respect to different chemical functions, may limit the general use of this approach.

Chloride (Cl) is considered a crucial nutrient for plant growth, but it can be a challenge under saline conditions. Excessive accumulation of Cl in leaves can cause toxicity. Chloride channels (CLCs) are expressed in the inner membranes of plant cells and function as essential Cl exchangers or channels.

The activity of four typical organotin benzohydroxamate compounds (OTBH) with the different electronegativity of fluorine and chlorine atoms was assessed both in vitro and in vivo, revealing that they all exhibited notable antitumor effects. Furthermore, it was discovered that the biochemical capacity against cancer was influenced by their substituents' electronegativity and structural symmetry. For instance, benzohydroxamate derivatives with single chlorine at the fourth site on the benzene ring, two normal‑butyl organic ligands, a symmetrical structure, and so on ([n-BuSn[{4-ClCHC(O)NHO}] (OTBH-1)) had stronger antitumor activity than others.
