Background: Vascular thymus transplantation has been explored in animal models but remains untested in humans. Current approaches to congenital athymia involve avascular transplantation of allogeneic thymic tissue, which may delay immune recovery. Building on animal studies, we propose revascularization of thymic tissue in a human model.

Chromatographic separations in combination with spectroscopic detectors are a main pillar of today's analytical chemistry. The recorded spectroscopic data is usually not shown in a typical chromatogram, therefore the contained additional information cannot be accessed readily by the analyst and is inspected in tedious additional routines, such as separate database searches. We developed a method to add colors to gas chromatograms with mass spectral detection.

Lamb waves are widely used for defect detection in structural health monitoring, and various methods are developed for Lamb wave data analysis. This paper presents an unsupervised Adversarial Transformer model for anomalous Lamb wave pattern detection by analyzing the spatiotemporal images generated by a hybrid PZT-scanning laser Doppler vibrometer (SLDV). The model includes the global attention and the local attention mechanisms, and both are trained adversarially.

Observing lip movements of a speaker facilitates speech understanding, especially in challenging listening situations. Converging evidence from neuroscientific studies shows stronger neural responses to audiovisual stimuli compared to audio-only stimuli. However, the interindividual variability of this contribution of lip movement information and its consequences on behavior are unknown.

In the past decade, machine-learned potentials (MLP) have demonstrated the capability to predict various QM properties learned from a set of reference QM calculations. Accordingly, hybrid QM/MM simulations can be accelerated by replacement of expensive QM calculations with efficient MLP energy predictions. At the same time, alchemical free-energy perturbations (FEP) remain unachievable at the QM level of theory.
