Pop-out and pop-in: Visual working memory advantages for unique items.

Attentional control is thought to play a critical role in determining the amount of information that can be stored and retrieved from visual working memory (VWM). We tested whether and how task-irrelevant feature-based salience, known to affect the control of visual attention, affects VWM performance. Our results show that features of a task-irrelevant color singleton are more likely to be recalled from VWM than non-singleton items and that this increased memorability comes at a cost to the other items in the display. Furthermore, the singleton effect in VWM was negatively correlated with an individual's baseline VWM capacity. Taken together, these results suggest that individual differences in VWM storage capacity may be partially attributable to the ability to ignore differences in task-irrelevant physical salience.

This work presents an advanced selection of multi-channel perceptual visual features for recognizing scenic images with elaborate spatial structures, focusing on developing a deep hierarchical model dedicated to learning human gaze behavior. Utilizing the BING objectness measure, we efficiently localize objects or their details across varying scales within scenes.

Objective: To describe the perceived wellbeing (pWB) and the psychological characteristics of young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions (LLTCs).

Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study in young people aged 8 years or older with collection of data on demographic and disease-related variables from the health records. As naturally essential biomacromolecule, HSA has become diagnostic indicators for various diseases and universal carriers for anticancer drug delivery, therefore, fluorescence detection and labeling for HSA possess significant application value in the biomedical field. In this paper, hydrazide Schiff base fluorescent probe NDQC was designed and synthesized, which self-assembled into nanoparticles in aqueous solution system and demonstrated excellent selectivity and sensitivity towards HSA. Through displacement assay and molecular docking simulation, the binding of NDQC with HSA in FA1 site was demonstrated, thereby no obvious fluorescence signal presented for homologous protein BSA due to their structural differences in binding site.
