Concepts of medical treatment are constantly evolving and improving. This opportunity provides treatment with High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU). In Europe and Asia more than 10,000 patients with uterine fibroids have been successfully treated with HIFU technology until now. This is completely innovative technology for non-invasive extracorporeal treatment of benign and malignant tumors. Neighboring healthy tissue is not damaged. The main indication in HIFU-Center in Pleven is uterine fibroid. It is the most common solid tumor in the female pelvis and is the leading cause of hysterectomy. The methods of treatment are hysterectomy, myomectomy or embolization of uterine arteries. HIFU-methodology allows non-invasive treatment of fibroids disease.

Graves' disease (GD) is an autoimmune disorder with a high incidence rate, particularly affecting women of reproductive age. Current treatment modalities for GD carry significant disadvantages, especially for pregnant or nursing women. As a novel extracorporeal therapeutic technique, high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) shows great promise for treating GD; however, its low treatment efficacy impedes clinical application.

Background: Sacroiliac joint (SIJ) dysfunction accounts for the etiology of pain in 15%-30% of low back pain cases. Some patients with conservative treatment-refractory SIJ dysfunction undergo radiofrequency (RF) ablation of the SIJ for prolonged pain relief. This procedure involves placing up to 12 RF probes in what is an invasive, resource-intensive, and time-consuming process.

High-intensity focused ultrasound thermal ablation (HIFU) is a novel non-invasive technique in the treatment of liver metastases (LIM) that allows focal destruction and is not affected by dose limits. This retrospective study aimed to explore the efficacy of HIFU in improving survival and the safety of the method in newly diagnosed patients with cancer with LIM who received first-line immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapy. Between January 2018 and December 2023, data from 438 newly diagnosed patients with cancer and LIM who were treated at Mianyang Central Hospital (Mianyang, China) were reviewed.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease that seriously threatens human health and affects the quality of life of patients. At present, pharmacotherapy is still the mainstream treatment for RA, but most methods have shortcomings, such as poor drug targeting, a low effective drug dosage at the inflammatory site, and high systemic toxicity. The combined application of drug-loaded nanobubbles and ultrasound technology provides a new technique for the treatment of RA.
