In this paper, two mHealth applications are introduced, which can be employed as the terminals of bigdata based health service to collect information for electronic medical records (EMRs). The first one is a hybrid system for improving the user experience in the hyperbaric oxygen chamber by 3D stereoscopic virtual reality glasses and immersive perception. Several HMDs have been tested and compared. The second application is a voice interactive serious game as a likely solution for providing assistive rehabilitation tool for therapists. The recorder of the voice of patients could be analysed to evaluate the long-time rehabilitation results and further to predict the rehabilitation process.

The CRISPR-Cas system is a highly adaptive and RNA-guided immune system found in bacteria and archaea, which has applications as a genome editing tool and is a valuable system for studying the co-evolutionary dynamics of bacteriophage interactions. Here introduces CRISPRimmunity, a new web server designed for Acr prediction, identification of novel class 2 CRISPR-Cas loci, and dissection of key CRISPR-associated molecular events. CRISPRimmunity is built on a suite of CRISPR-oriented databases providing a comprehensive co-evolutionary perspective of the CRISPR-Cas and anti-CRISPR systems.

The CheY protein belongs to a large bacterial response regulator superfamily. X-ray hydroxy radical foot-printing with mass spectroscopy (XFMS) has shown that allosteric activation of CheY by its motor target triggers a concerted internalization of aromatic sidechains. We reanalyzed the XFMS data to compare polar versus non-polar CheY residue positions.

In this feature article, we discuss the fundamental use of materials-characterization methods that determine structural information on the dye···TiO interface in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs). This interface is usually buried within the DSC and submerged in solvent and electrolyte, which renders such metrological work nontrivial. We will show how - X-ray reflectometry (XRR), atomic-force microscopy (AFM), grazing-incidence X-ray scattering (GIXS), pair-distribution-function analysis of X-ray diffraction data (gaPDF), and - neutron reflectometry (NR) can be used to deliver specific structural information on the dye···TiO interface regarding dye anchoring, dye aggregation, molecular dye orientation, intermolecular spacing between dye molecules, interactions between the dye molecules and the TiO surface, and interactions between the dye molecules and the electrolyte components and precursors.

High-dimensional data are pervasive in this bigdata era. To avoid the curse of the dimensionality problem, various dimensionality reduction (DR) algorithms have been proposed. To facilitate systematic DR quality comparison and assessment, this paper reviews related metrics and develops an open-source Python package pyDRMetrics.
