Positive surgical margins (PSM) after radical prostatectomy (RP) are a predictor of biochemical recurrence (BCR), and highly dependent on surgeon, experience, and skill. The length and location PSMs are important, with significant differences between open and robotic RP. The impact of PSMs on BCR remains secondary to other clinico-pathologic variables: Gleason Score, pathologic stage, and baseline PSA. However, lower PSM rates are associated with reduced use of secondary interventions and patient anxiety of cancer recurrence.

Tumor-induced osteomalacia (TIO) is a rare paraneoplastic syndrome caused by hypersecretion of fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23) by typically benign phosphaturic mesenchymal tumors (PMTs). FGF23 excess causes chronic hypophosphatemia through renal phosphate losses and decreased production of 1,25-dihydroxy-vitamin-D. TIO presents with symptoms of chronic hypophosphatemia including fatigue, bone pain, weakness, and fractures.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate the role of lymph node yield (LNY), lymph node ratio (LNR), and neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) as prognostic factors, their impact on survival in patients with advanced laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC).
Methods: This multicentric retrospective study included 195 patients with clinical N0 advanced laryngeal carcinoma who underwent total laryngectomy and/or total pharyngolaryngectomy over 5 years. The number of lymph nodes extracted (LNY) and the number of positive nodes were counted.

Background: Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) is an aggressive tumor with unclear margins. Photodynamic diagnosis (PDD) enables the differentiation of tumor tissue from normal tissue via visible fluorescence. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is widely used in the treatment of non-melanoma skin tumors.

Background: Solid pseudopapillary neoplasms (SPNs) arising in the body or tail of the pancreas can be amenable to laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy with or without concomitant splenectomy. The purpose of this study was to evaluate laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy for SPN using the Warshaw technique as a means to preserve spleens in children.
Methods: We reviewed our database of SPN patients 19 years and younger (January 2006-December 2023).
