Twelve patients were followed for 5 years after treatment with a 12-unit cantilever fixed partial denture on the mandibular canines opposed by a complete maxillary denture. Two fixed dentures had to be removed, one because of an abutment tooth root-fracture and one because of rapid marginal bone loss in a terminal stage of leukemia. Caries and periodontal lesions were rare, but other complications, principally related to endodontics, occurred. All complications were amenable to standard treatment procedures. Extensive mandibular cantilever fixed partial dentures may be used in the rehabilitation of patients with a very reduced dentition and a history of difficulties in adapting to removable dentures.

Pesticide contamination in wastewater poses a significant environmental challenge, driven by extensive agricultural use. This study evaluates the removal of chlorpyrifos (CPS) using sugarcane bagasse-based biochar alginate beads in a continuous fixed-bed adsorption column, achieving a remarkable 95-98% removal efficiency. Compared to conventional adsorbents like activated carbon, which typically show CPS adsorption capacities ranging from 50-70 mg g⁻ under similar conditions, the biochar alginate beads demonstrate better performance with a sorption capacity of 91.

Background: Worn dentition is a common problem encountered by most people in the last decade. Rehabilitation of a full mouth needs individual attention and proper treatment planning, which is very challenging for partial edentulous cases where bilateral teeth are missing and collapsed vertical dimension leaves inadequate restorative space. Treatment of these cases is complex and needs to apply standard principles while designing and fabricating prostheses.

Aim To evaluate and compare the fracture toughness and flexural strength of interim fixed partial dentures reinforced with carbon, glass, and Kevlar nanofibers. Materials and methods This study explored the effect of reinforcing poly methyl methacrylate with carbon, glass, and Kevlar fibers on its fracture toughness and flexural strength. A total of 120 samples were prepared, divided into two groups of 60 samples each, with one group tested for fracture toughness and the other for flexural strength.

Aims: Bone preservation is a requirement for long-term stability of dental prostheses, which is all the more important in the posterior mandible, given the particular challenges these areas pose to prosthetic treatment. The objective was to investigate the implications of different prostheses on the atrophy of posterior alveolar bone after tooth loss.
Materials And Methods: A total of 457 treatment cases were retrieved from the medical documentation and information network.

Objectives: The Recovering Quality of Life-Utility Index (ReQoL-UI) instrument was designed to measure the quality of life outcomes for people over 16 years of age with mental health problems. We aim to elicit societal preferences for the ReQoL-UI health states to facilitate better decision-making in Australia.
Methods: A discrete choice experiment (DCE) with duration was embedded in a self-complete online survey and administered to a representative sample (n=1019) of the Australian adult population aged 18 years and more, stratified for age, sex and geographic location.
