Purpose: This study aims to explore the relationship between autoimmune rheumatic diseases (ARDs) and the risk of iridocyclitis (IC) using Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis.
Methods: Data of ankylosing spondylitis (AS), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), Behcet's disease (BD), and iridocyclitis were obtained from genome-wide association studies with large sample sizes. The instrumental variable utilized in this study for each exposure was the single nucleotide polymorphism.
Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in ankylosing spondylitis (AS) patients in the Chaoshan region and identify factors influencing the ASAS Health Index (ASAS-HI) to enhance comprehensive AS treatment strategies.
Methods: A survey of ASAS-HI was conducted on 82 AS patients from the rheumatology outpatient department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Shantou University Medical College. The Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Global Score (BAS-G) assessed overall health status, the Ankylosing Spondylitis Quality of Life Questionnaire (AS-QOL) evaluated quality of life, the Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Index (BASDAI) measured disease activity, and the Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Functional Index (BASFI) assessed functional difficulties.

Cysteine S-carboxyethylation, a novel post-translational modification (PTM), plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases, particularly ankylosing spondylitis. Accurate identification of S-carboxyethylation modification sites is essential for elucidating their functional mechanisms. Unfortunately, there are currently no computational tools that can accurately predict these sites, posing a significant challenge to this area of research.

Background And Importance: Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a systemic chronic inflammatory disease. Andersson lesion (AL) is a late complication of advanced AS. Idiopathic spinal cord hernia (ISCH) is a rare disorder of the spinal cord.

Lower back pain comprises the majority of the disease burden of patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS), while the alterations of the large-scale brain networks could be implicated in the neuropathophysiology of pain. The frontoparietal network (FPN) is known as a pain modulation hub, with key nodes dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (dlPFC) and ventrolateral prefrontal cortex (vlPFC) participating in the pain modulation and reappraisal process. In this study, we adopted the analytical approaches of independent component analysis (ICA) and seed-based correlation analysis (SCA) to examine the resting-state functional connectivity (rsFC) of the large-scale brain networks, notably FPN, between 82 AS patients and 61 healthy controls (HCs).
