The 6th Asia Partnership Conference of Regenerative Medicine (APACRM) was held in person with online on April 20, 2023, to promote the regulatory harmonization of regenerative medicine products throughout Asia. Recognizing domestic regulatory guidelines within each country and region and the underlying rationales are important initial steps toward harmonizing regulations. The 6th APACRM featured an open dialog regarding non-clinical evaluation for advanced CAR-T products, regulation of clinical trials for AAV-based gene therapies, and cell and gene therapies provided to patients as medical care/medical practices without market authorization through presentations from the industry and panel discussions with regulatory agencies.

The fifth modeling workshop (5MW) was held in June 2023 at Favrholm, Denmark and sponsored by Recovery of Biological Products Conference Series. The goal of the workshop was to assemble modeling practitioners to review and discuss the current state, progress since the last fourth mini modeling workshop (4MMW), gaps and opportunities for development, deployment and maintenance of models in bioprocess applications. Areas of focus were four categories: biophysics and molecular modeling, mechanistic modeling, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and plant modeling.

Head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCC) have proven to be inherently resistant to systemic treatments as a result of histological, molecular, and etiological heterogeneity, with limited responses seen after second-line therapy and beyond. With limited treatment options after progression on systemic chemotherapy in HNSCCs, immunotherapy has a role to play with improved results. In this prospective, observational, non-randomized, open-label study, a total of 12 patients with advanced, relapsed, or metastatic HNSCC received Inj.

This is the summary report of the 5th Translational Hepatology Meeting, endorsed by the Spanish Association for the Study of the Liver (AEEH) and held in Seville, Spain, in October 2023. The meeting aimed to provide an update on the latest advances in the field of basic and translational hepatology, covering different molecular, cellular, and pathophysiological aspects of the most relevant clinical challenges in liver pathologies. This includes the identification of novel biomarkers and diagnostic tools, the understanding of the relevance of immune response and inflammation in liver diseases, the characterization of current medical approaches to reverse liver diseases, the incorporation of novel molecular insights through omics techniques, or the characterization of the impact of toxic and metabolic insults, as well as other organ crosstalk, in liver pathophysiology.

Background: Isoniazid-resistant, rifampicin-susceptible tuberculosis (Hr-TB) is the most frequent drug-resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB) in the world, and unfavorable outcomes of Hr-TB are more common compared to drug-susceptible TB. Considering there is no optimal regimen accepted worldwide, we undertook a retrospective cohort study in eastern China to estimate incidence trends and risk factors associated with unfavorable outcomes of Hr-TB.
Methods: Between January 2012 and December 2022, all Hr-TB patients' information was extracted from the Tuberculosis Information Management System (TIMS), which is a national electronic information platform, to record TB patients' clinical information in this study.
