Arthrometry and stress imaging are useful clinical tools for the objective assessment of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) integrity. They are most frequently used for the diagnosis of a complete ACL tear when other workup is equivocal, in conjunction with history and clinical exam findings. Other applications include the diagnosis of partial ACL tears, injury prognosis, and post-operative monitoring. However, further studies are needed to validate these uses. Many different devices and techniques exist for objective examination, which have been compared in recent literature. Reliability and validity measures of these methods vary, and often depend upon examiner familiarity and skill. The KT series of devices is the current gold standard for arthrometry, although the newer robotic GNRB device shows promising early results. Newer methods of data interpretation have been developed for stress imaging, and portable technology may impact this field further.

The relationship between cannabis use and mental health is complex, as studies often report seemingly contradictory findings regarding whether cannabis use results in more positive or negative treatment outcomes. With an increasing number of individuals using cannabis for both recreational (i.e.

In cases of large mandibular continuity defects resulting from malignancy resection, the current standard of care involves using patient-specific/custom titanium reconstruction plates along with autogenous grafts (fibula, scapula, or iliac crest segments). However, when grafts are not feasible or desired, only the reconstruction plate is used to bridge the gap. Unfortunately, metal osteosynthesis and reconstruction plates, including titanium, exhibit adverse effects such as stress-shielding and limitations in accurate postoperative irradiation (especially with proton-beam therapy).

Cardiorespiratory signals have long been treated as "noise" in functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) research, with the goal of minimizing their impact to isolate neural activity. However, there is a growing recognition that these signals, once seen as confounding variables, provide valuable insights into brain function and overall health. This shift reflects the dynamic interaction between the cardiovascular, respiratory, and neural systems, which together support brain activity.

Chronic itch which is primarily associated with dermatologic, systemic, or metabolic disorders is often refractory to most current antipruritic medications, thus highlighting the need for improved therapies. Oxidative damage is a novel determinant of spinal pruriceptive sensitization and synaptic plasticity. The resolution of oxidative insult by molecular hydrogen has been manifested.

Targeting the peculiarities of tumor tissue microenvironment different from normal tissue, such as lower pH and overexpression of hydrogen peroxide is the key to effective treatment. In this study, acid-responsive Z-scheme heterojunctions polyglycolated MoS/CoFeO (MoS = molybdenum disulfide, CoFeO = cobalt ferrite) was synthesized using a two-step hydrothermal method, designated as MSCO-PEG, guided by dual modes of photoacoustic imagine (PAI) and nuclear magnetic imaging (MRI). MSCO-PEG (PEG = polyethylene glycol) responded to the acidic environment of tumor tissues and overexpression of hydrogen peroxide to turn on multimodal synergistic treatment of tumor cells under near-infrared-II (NIR-II) illumination.
