Paravalvular leak (PVL) following transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is an established complication, albeit rarely associated with hemolytic anemia. This report details 3 cases of significant hemolytic anemia attributed to TAVR-induced PVL, each with distinct clinical presentations and manifestations. These cases underscore the diverse and occasionally subtle clinical presentation of aortic PVL-associated hemolytic anemia.

Pectus excavatum (PE) can be associated with either congenital or acquired heart disease. This study highlights the importance of PE surgical repair in cases of severe chest depression on the heart in underlying cardiac diseases exacerbating cardiopulmonary impairment. From January 2023 to March 2024, four male patients underwent PE repair, having heart disease including pericarditis, mitral valve prolapse, ventricular fibrillation arrest and type 1 second-degree atrioventricular block.

Background: The population of adult CHD patients is continuously increasing. The underlying CHD affects performance and prognosis, but also has a significant impact on quality of life, psychosocial behaviour, anxiety and emotional disturbances. We describe the case of a 72-year-old male suffering from Marfan syndrome, who, because of cardiac abnormalities correlated to the syndrome, received an orthotopic heart transplant four years ago. In 2024, he was diagnosed with right colon cancer. The decision to operate was difficult because of the elevated perioperative risk.

Unlabelled: Though usually self-limiting, viral respiratory infections can escalate to severe cases requiring admission to a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU). This study aims to examine the proportional incidence, affected age ranges, viral pathogens involved, associated severity measures, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on their incidence and virus distribution. This retrospective cohort study conducted in a tertiary care center (2011-2021) reviewed all pediatric patients admitted to PICU with laboratory-confirmed viral respiratory infection.
