We present an interesting image of eruptive syringoma confirmed by histopathological assessment in a 37-year-old male who was consulted due to numerous brownish small macules and papules resembling maculopapular cutaneous mastocytosis (MPCM). We show difficulties in diagnosing ES, given its rare occurrence and resemblance to other dermatological disorders. Moreover, we discuss the role of dermoscopy and reflectance confocal microscopy in the differential diagnosis of syringoma.

Background/objectives: Hidrocystomas, eccrine and apocrine, are rare cystic lesions that form benign tumors of the sweat glands. This study aimed to describe the clinical features of hidrocystomas and evaluate the role of non-invasive imaging techniques, including dermoscopy, Line-field Confocal Optical Coherence Tomography (LC-OCT), Reflectance Confocal Microscopy (RCM), and Ultra-High-Frequency Ultrasound (UHFUS), in their diagnosis.

Methods: In total, seven cases of hidrocystomas were collected from the Dermatologic Clinic of the University of Siena, Italy.

Introduction: Palmoplantar psoriasis is classified as nonpustular palmoplantar psoriasis (NPPP) or palmoplantar pustulosis (PPP).

Objective: We sought to shed light on the phenotypic diversity of nail psoriasis and conducted a thorough study of the dermoscopic features of nail lesions from patients with NPPP and PPP.

Methods: A prospective study included 35 patients with NPPP and 20 patients with PPP who had findings of nail psoriasis in at least three of their nails.

  • A study was conducted to assess the impact of a one-day dermoscopy training course on ophthalmologists, focusing on their ability to evaluate periorbital pigmented lesions through clinical and dermoscopic analysis.* -
  • Results showed that before the training, ophthalmologists had an accuracy of 63.7%, but after the course, their sensitivity improved, indicating a positive effect of the training on their diagnostic skills.*
