For patients with nonmetastatic soft tissue sarcoma (STS) who are at high risk of local recurrence, the standard of care for limb-conserving local management is combined radiotherapy and surgery. Radiotherapy for STS entails 5 weeks of conventionally fractionated radiotherapy (25 × 2 Gy) preoperatively or 6 or more weeks postoperatively. There is growing interest in the use of preoperative hypofractionated regimes, viz.

This study aimed to investigate the clinical value of glucocorticoids in patients with neutropenic severe pneumonia at moderate to high risk according to the Pneumonia Severity Index (PSI) in patients with hematologic diseases. Clinical data were collected from 534 patients at the Fujian Medical University Union Hospital from October 2016 to December 2018. We evaluated the changes in inflammatory cytokines, treatment failure, in-hospital mortality, and other outcomes, adjusting for potential confounders through propensity score matching.

Purpose: In-vivo proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) is a non-invasive method of analyzing choline metabolism that has been used to predict breast cancer prognosis. A strong choline peak may be a surrogate for aggressive tumor biology but its clinical relevance is unclear. The present study assessed whether total choline (tCho), as measured by proton MRS, can predict late recurrence in patients with hormone receptor (HR)-positive, HER2-negative early breast cancer.
